Many argue about what the ten best Kobe Bryant slam dunks of all time are. Call Kobe dunks what you will, but they are damn memorable when they occur, and no one is better at it than the legend. But don’t believe us. View the evidence for yourself. What follows are the top ten best Kobe Bryant slam dunks of all time.

  1. It’s 1997 and no one really knows who this Kobe Bryant person is yet, until this dunk. Kobe Bryant slams one on Ben Wallace. This happened when Kobe was still wet behind the ears and gunning for a reputation. This is one of the quintessential Kobe Bryant slam dunks because it set the stage for fans and opponents. In this game Kobe jumped from the foul line and dunked over top of Ben Wallace who was left wondering what happened. The video shows Kobe going against Ben Wallace. Wallace was playing in a preseason game for the Washington Wizards.
  2. The legendary windmill dunk. It’s the 2001-2002 season, in Utah, and Kobe has a point to make. What makes this one of the best Kobe Bryant slam dunks is the finesse with which he accomplishes it. Not only does he complete the windmill jam but then he manages to twist completely sideways after the steal.
  3. Kobe Takes on Yao Ming. It’s the 2002-2003 season and while dealing with a sore knee, Kobe manages to still score 52 points, then go on to go belly to belly with Yao Ming. Even though Yao Ming was much taller with a longer reach he managed to send the dunk home.
  4. Baseline revolution in Utah. It was the 2004-05 season when one of the most unbelievable Kobe Bryant dunks occurred. Kobe takes on the entire Utah defensive zones, then sweeps in on top of Andrei Kirilenko to slam the dunk home. He was like a human pretzel on that one, and afterward, even though the Lakers lost, everyone was talking about the dunk.
  5. Then there was the infamous 2004-2005 game with Kobe Bryant taking on Dwight Howard. Kobe fans will recall that there was a heckler during the first half that was irritating enough to light a fire under Kobe. They even showed on national television Kobe walking up to the guy and telling him that he was awake now. Upon his return from the locker room, Kobe served notice to Dwight Howard for good measure.
  6. 2005-06 NBA playoffs vs. Phoenix Suns. Arguably some of the best slam dunks anyone accomplished that game. Funny thing was that Kobe wasn’t even the MVP at the time and went on to have a bigger showing in stats, punctuating it with a cram-it-down-your-throat dunk that brought fans to their feet. Kobe was making a point about the MVP decision, and the point was taken.
  7. And then there were the game against the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2000-2001 season. This one did happen early in his career, but it was the game where Kobe invented his signature slam dunk move, but he pushed the envelope and surprised a lot of people.
  8. 2002-03 NBA playoffs. Explosive is the word for the dunks that came out of this series. Each ball that sunk into the net did so with such power and force that it was surprising that the backboards didn’t shatter. The rest of the team took their cue from Kobe and powered through to literally crush the Timberwolves’s season, but the dunks that came out of this series is what people remember.
  9. Against New York during the 2002-03 season. In Madison Square Garden, taking on Latrell Sprewell and the Knicks Kobe manages an unbelievable launch from one side of the court, lands, shakes and bakes, crashes into Sprewell, and still manages to stuff it.
  10. A complete 360 dunk in Denver during the 2002-2003 season. No one had seen it before and no one has done it since, at least not as well!. Kobe snagged a pass, switched it up for an around the waist move, then did a complete 360 for the dunk. Defenders were all over him, but they might as well had been standing still, making this the number one in the top ten best Kobe Bryant slam dunks.
