Europe has hundreds of festivals throughout the year, but these are the 10 best music festivals in Europe to check out this year!

  1. Roskilde. Roskilde is one of the best music festivals in Europe. It has been occurring annually in Denmark since 1971, featuring acts such as Prince, Alice in Chains, Pavement, and Prodigy.
  2. Melt. Melt Festival, in Germany, may not be as big as some of Europe's other music festivals, but it is still one of the best music festivals in Europe. Melt has featured headliners like Underworld, The Streets, Oasis, and Aphex Twin.
  3. Electric Picnic. Electric Picnic occurs annually in Ireland, featuring a variety of artists and bands including Massive Attack, LCD Soundsystem, Modest Mouse, and Seasick Steve.
  4. Sziget. Sziget festival in Budapest, Hungary is one of the best music festivals in Europe and one of the most unique. It occurs on an island in the Danube River, and includes such acts as Iron Maiden, Bad Religion, Muse, and Infected Mushroom.
  5. Eurockeennes. Eurockeennes, in France, is another great European music festival that has dozens of great performers including Jay-Z, Broken Social Scene, Missy Elliott, and The Black Keys.
  6. Open'er. Open'er festival, in Poland, includes a bunch of great artists and bands for a great price! Some Open'er performers are Ben Harper and Relentless7, Matisyahu, Nas, and Damian Marley.
  7. Exit. Exit festival is another one of the best music festivals in Europe! Exit, a Serbian festival that has been going strong for over a decade, includes such acts as Bad Brains, DJ Shadow, The Exploited, and Royksopp.
  8. Fiberfib. Fiberfib festival, which occurs annually in Spain is another awesome European music festival to check out. Some of Fiberfib's performers are Echo and the Bunnymen, Dizzee Rascal, Hot Chip, and Goldfrapp.
  9. Frequency. Frequency Festival, in Austria, includes some awesome bands and artists such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, NOFX, Deadmau5, and Diplo.
  10. Rock Werchter. Rock Werchter, in Belgium, is one of the oldest music festivals in Europe and also one of the best music festivals in Europe! Some Rock Werchter performers include Rise Against, Paramore, The SPecials, and Rammstein.
