10 Best Old TV Shows

If you enjoy television, you may enjoy reminiscing on some of the 10 best old tv shows. Some of these you may recognize and some you may not.

  1. Cosby Show:  “The Cosby Show” was a comedy show about the Huxtable family, an upper middle class African American family.  It began running in 1984 on NBC and ran for eight seasons.
  2. Happy Days:  “Happy Days” was a sweet comedy about the Cunningham family and their friends during the 1950’s and the 1960’s. It starred:  Ron Howard and Henry Winkler. It ran on ABC from 1974 to 1984.
  3. Friends:“Friends” was a beloved hit in the 1990’s that set on a group of six friends in New York City. It starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrox. It ran on NBC from 1994 to 2004.
  4. Magnum PI: “Magnum PI” was a detective show living in Oahu, Hawaii.  It starred Tom Selleck and ran from 1980 to 1988 on CBS.
  5. I Love Lucy:  “I Love Lucy” was a comedy show back in the days when shows were still being played in black and white.  It starred Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz.  It ran from 1951 to 1957 on CBS.
  6. Dukes Of Hazzard:  “The Dukes Of Hazzard” was inspired by a movie called the “Moonrunners.”  It was a comedy type show in which the main players: Bo and Luke Duke were always having to prove their innocence of one crime or another while driving the General Lee (an orange Charger).  It starred:  Tom Wopat and John Schneider and aired on CBS from 1979 to 1985.
  7. Cheers:  “Cheers” was a comedy show that centered on a bar and a group of locals in Boston.  It starred:  Ted Danson, Shelly Long, Kristie Alley, Rhea Perlamn, Woody Harrelson, and Kesley Grammer. It ran on NBC from 1982 to 1993.
  8. Knight Rider:“Knight Rider” was a crime show which centered on Kitt, a fully functionally, intelligent car that could talk and drive itself. It aired from 1982 to 1986 on NBC and starred David Hassselhoff.
  9. Home Improvement:  “Home Improvement” was a comedy show on ABC starring Tim Allen, who played the accident prone Tim, the Tool Man Taylor. It ran from 1991 to 1999 .
  10. Married With Children:  “Married With Children” was a comedy show and a guide on how parents shouldn’t act. It starred the famous Ed O’Neil as Al Bundy and Katey Segal as Peggy Bundy.  It ran on the Fox Network from 1987 to 1997.
