10 Best Orlando Magic Players of All Time

As much as the Orlando Magic has been disappointed in its 20 year franchise, there is no doubt that its players have been no less than outstanding.  Listed are the top 10 most dominant, most talented and overall best Orlando Magic players of all time.

  1. Shaquille O'Neal-He’s not just the best center to ever wear a Magic jersey.  Neither is he the best overall player to wear a Magic jersey. He’s simply the greatest center there ever has been in NBA history. In a league where dominance equals greatness, Shaq has certainly reigned as the one of the most dominant players the league has ever seen, starting with his remarkable first few years in Orlando where he won Rookie of the Year, averaged an incredible 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game, and led Orlando to its first ever NBA Finals. Ladies and gentlemen, Shaquille O’Neal is the best Orlando Magic player of all time.

  2. Dwight Howard-It’s a bird! It’s a plane! Dwight Howard has not only become the face of the Orlando Magic and a well-deserving contender for the league MVP, but he’s also achieved all of this while cranking the Soulja Boy and having a good time.  His high-flying dunks, volleyball-like blocks, and brute strength have contributed to his becoming one of the best centers there ever has been and certainly the best of today's generation.

  3. Penny Hardaway-This dude has achieved some impressive landmarks while in an Orlando Magic jersey. He became the only player at his time to consistently average at least 20 points and 6 assists per game, he became the first player in history to record back to back 40+ point games in the playoffs and finally, he’s one of the most famous players to dress in black, white and blue.

  4. Tracy McGrady-Ever since he had to pick up the slack from an injured Grant Hill, T-Mac had become one of the biggest superstars of the decade, one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen (he won 2 scoring titles in a row and averaging over 30 points a game), and one of the least guardable players of all time making his otherwise short career in Orlando a very memorable 4 seasons.

  5. Dennis Scott-The underrated point guard that set an NBA record with 267 three-point field goals in a single season(1995-96),even once hitting 11 three-pointers in a single game, has since been named one of the greatest shooters of the decade and is, to this date, one of the most dangerous players to ever sport a Magic jersey.

  6. Darrell Armstrong-No doubt, Darrell Armstrong is one of the best point guards in Magic history. Besides his tenacious defense and his tremendous ball-handling skills, he’s also the only player the NBA has ever had to win both the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award and the NBA Most Improved Player Award simultaneously.

  7. Nick Anderson-He may have missed the four clutch free throws to win Game 1 of the 1995 NBA Finals, but he certainly cannot miss this list.  True, he had a tumultuous career with Orlando but Anderson was one of the few players loyal enough to stay with the team for ten straight seasons before he left as the Magic’s career leading scorer.

  8. Hedo Turkoglu-The self-proclaimed “Turkish Michael Jordan”, Hedo Turkoglu is not lying. As the leading scorer during the Magic's brilliant 52 win season and Finals run, Turkoglu was probably also the most versatile player the Magic had seen in a long time.

  9. Scott Skiles-One of the first players the new Orlando franchise had drafted, this young point guard went on to win the NBA Most Improved Player Award in 1991, after setting the record for most assists in a single game (30).

  10. Horace Grant-Although Horace Grant’s name is just as easily associated with the Chicago Bulls, there is no denying that this talented traitor with goggles on had also had a remarkable seven-year career in Orlando, helping his Central Florida team fly past his former Bulls team in 1995 and reach the NBA Finals.
