Before we talk about the 10 best rated luxury sedans, let’s talk about what “sedan” means. Sedan models of cars have either two or four doors, and can seat four to five people. Luxury sedans have those same amenities, as well as lots of other accessories, some of which are considered standard equipment, but are not included on regular sedan models.

2010 Hyundai Genesis The Hyundai Genesis has a V6 engine, which gives it a great deal of power. Although it is considered one of the best rated luxury sedans, it is actually listed as being in the upscale sedan price range, which is higher than that of regular sedans but lower than luxury sedans.
2009 Lincoln MKS This size of this one of the best rated luxury sedans puts it in the large luxury sedan category. The car’s style is based on that of the Ford Taurus model. It has a 3.7 liter V6 engine.
2004 Audi A8 This luxury sedan has an aluminum body, and, despite its appearance and overall size, is considered a full-size luxury sedan. It has a V-8 engine.
2010 Audi A4 This year’s model has a 4.2 liter V8 engine, and six-speed automatic shifting.
2010 Cadillac DTS This luxury sedan is also considered in the large-size category, and has front-wheel-drive as well. Its engine is 275 horsepower, 6-liter, V8.
2010 Mercedes-Benz S Class: This is Mercedes-Benz’s contribution to the best rated luxury sedans list. It is considered a very comfortable model that operates efficiently but quietly.
2010 Lexus HS Hybrid: This is the only hybrid on the list.
2010 Lincoln Town Car The Lincoln Town Car with its many features has always been a popular car. This one has a comfortable ride, and is powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine.
2008 BMW 5 Series BMW’s contribution is considered a midsize sedan. Even with its smaller size, it is known for its quiet operation.
2006 Lexus IS This car has a 215 hp inline 6-cylinder engine. Although it is considered a small sports sedan, it still belongs in the luxury sedan category.
