10 Famous Rapper Quotes

These 10 famous rapper quotes exemplify that rappers have just as much to say off stage as they do on it. When they talk, people are bound to listen.

  1. Eminem.  He’s one of America’s best rappers/hip hop artists. Over the span of his career, Eminem has plenty of great quotes—some controversial, some outrageous, and some just plain candid. When it comes to famous rapper quotes, he ranks high, especially with remarks like this one: "Don't do drugs, don't have unprotected sex, don't be violent. Leave that to me."

  2. Dr. Dre. Arguably the best hip-hop producer ever, Dre’s beats are just as catchy as his lyrical compositions. That’s why he’s been around for so long. In a famous quote, the fearless artist made known his two greatest fears: “The only two things that scare me are God and the IRS.”

  3. Snoop Dogg. Known for his smooth, laid back style of rapping and rhyming,  Snoop is one of the finest in the rap game. He’s famous for popularizing one of the most famous rap quotes of the decade. Whenever we think about him, this rapper quote comes to mind: "Fo shizzle ma nizzle."

  4. Tupac Shakur. This legendary rapper/artist/actor concocted some of the most unforgettable rap/hip hop tunes of all time. His beats were on-point and his words were fierce and sometimes poignant. Tupac was always a man of depth, as exemplified through this quote: "Reality is wrong. Dreams are for real."

  5. Jay-Z. Clever and creative, Jay-Z’s material is always fresh and engaging. He never seems to disappoint. One of this rapper's famous quotes comes from his hit single, “99 problems”: “If you're havin' girl problems I feel bad for you son/ I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one.”

  6. Notorious BIG. Biggy was a man of many words. His lyrics are what make him one of the greats. One of his most famous lines established his dangerous, untouchable image as a rapper: “While your guns raisin’, mine is blazin’.”

  7. P. Diddy. A rapper and successful businessman, P. Diddy continues to reach new levels of super-stardom. In one of the rapper’s most famous quotes, it’s easy to see not only his inner motivation, but his mentality on life: “Keep on pushing the boundaries and reaching for higher heights.”

  8. Eminem.  He makes this list twice. Why, you ask? He’s had so many famous statements, it’s hard just to settle for one. His earlier career was geared toward rebelling against pop singers and boy bands, and he had plenty of tunes that vehemently expressed his hatred for them. This rapper's quote about two of the biggest pop stars of this generation remains famous, even now: "I don't want them once they turn eighteen" (speaking about Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera).

  9. Notorious BIG. He makes the list twice as well. Much like Tupac, he remains one of the most prominent, influential and memorable rappers in the history of the genre. He had a list of successful hit songs and an unmatchable energy, and was known for his fierce lyrics. Take, for instance, one of this rapper's famous quotes: “Hail Mary full of grace, smack the bitch in the face.”

  10. Kanye West. Arrogant and pugnacious, Kanye has always been an intense, in-your-face type of artist. He always says what’s on his mind. One of his most famous quotes only proves this: “George Bush doesn't care about black people.”
