Looking for 10 golf practice tips? If you want to become a better golfer you will need to spend a lot of time practicing and working on your skills. As with any special discipline, golf takes lots of practice in order to be great at it. Following these practice tips will help you on your way to being a better golfer.

  1. Start with warm-ups. Before you begin practicing golf, the best thing to do is some body warm-ups and stretches. This will help loosen up your body by stretching your arms, legs, back and shoulders. This will make you better able to swing the golf club.
  2. Hit the balls on the ground. Don't move the golf ball into place. Instead, get used to hitting the ball where it lies and try to make the best hit you can. This will give you good practice on hitting the ball from inconvenient spots and getting the ball to where you want it to be.
  3. Have patience when hitting the balls. Remember, it doesn't matter how fast you hit the ball, it is how much focus you put into hitting the ball. Some people hit the ball fast, others hit it slow. Speed has nothing to do with golf. Focus and accuracy are what golf is all about.
  4. Practice versus playing. When playing you are trying hard to make a hole in one. But when it comes to practicing, you are focusing on how to be a better golfer. So remember, when you are practicing you are not just trying to minimize your mistakes, you are trying to learn from them.
  5. Master the basics. When practicing, make sure to cover even the most basic elements of golf. Check your grip, examine your clubface and make sure your alignments are set up and your stance is aligned with the ball.
  6. Don't just pick balls with a good lay. Hitting the ball down the center of the field won't necessarily mean it was a good hit. You want to practice with a variety of balls to improve your hand-eye coordination.
  7. Start with a short iron. The best way to practice golf is to start with the shortest iron and work your way through the golf bag. By starting with the shortest iron you are working your way towards easing into hitting shots.
  8. Aim at the target. Try to get within a twenty-foot radius of a specified target . This will allow you to gain confidence with increasing or decreasing your target distance within a certain radius.
  9. Build a pre-shot routine. Get used to thinking your next thoughts as if you were playing the game. This will allow you to get better at thinking ahead and figuring out what you need to do to get the winning shot.
  10. Work on chipping and putting. Practice lots of chipping and putting as you would in the long game. This will allow you to practice the weak points of golf. These usually don't get practiced enough, so make sure to focus on the chipping and putting.
