As garnered from the increasing 10 mixed martial arts fighting tips, martial arts fighting has been growing in popularity over the years since the inception of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (or UFC) as the dominant sporting event on pay per view. Many athletes now compete in mixed martial arts fighting around the globe within other arenas and federations to crown themselves champion of their respective weight classes, much like their boxing counterparts. The training involved for mixed martial arts can be daunting as their opponents will do everything in their power to prevent you from winning the bout, whether by a knockout or clean submission. With hard work and dedication, a mixed martial arts fighter learns the essentials to overcome any obstacle and become the best of the best in their division. Here are 10 tips to start out on the victory road to greatness:

  1. Utilize sparring: This boxing exercise helps to hone the striking ability when going toe-to-toe with your opponent.
  2. Integrate grappling techniques: Whether Brazilian jiujitsu or Greco-Roman wrestling, one must be adept with the floor game in order to survive.
  3. Practice submissions: From the arm bar to the ankle lock, these are the essential tools needed to gain a quick win or work your way out of one.
  4. Train using strength exercises: Proper take downs and suplexes require good upper and lower body strength or the previous two are useless.
  5. Hone many disciplines: Boxing, wrestling and martial arts are the building blocks, but never discount other fighting styles to make yourself tougher to defeat.
  6. Use general physical preparation: Doing sit-ups and jumping jacks, as well as running in place, give you the stamina to last many rounds without long term fatigue.
  7. Remember proper nutrition: Depending on your regimen, make sure you are giving yourself the right amount of calories and carbs from food to replenish vital nutrients during training and while experiencing staggering weight loss.
  8. Practice drills: Every battle in mixed martial arts is unique so prepare each and every corner of your fight plan and game for the wort case scenario.
  9. Give yourself adequate time to train: Unlike your history exam, cramming does not help you gain any kind of edge nor prepare you for the bout, so try and give yourself at least a few months for preparation.
  10. Conquer your fear: It may sound cliche, but in mixed martial arts fighting, you must be able to step into that ring or octagon and prepare to take as well as deliver punishment.
