These ten tips for losing weight naturally will help you reach your goal safely and increase your chances of keeping the weight off. Extra weight is something most people struggle over. The fad diets and get skinny quick gimmicks seem convincing, but many times they are unsafe and the weight comes straight back.

  1. Drink Water Chances are you have heard this one before, but it is worth repeating. Drinking water is important. The average person should down 8 oz.. glasses of water daily. Water will leave you feeling fuller and less likely to snack between meals.
  2. Switch Juice for Fruit Juice often times has added sugar. In addition, juicing a fruit loses the fiber contents. Eating a fruit with the peeling, when acceptable, adds to health benefits.
  3. Eat Less This one seems obvious. If you want to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories. An easy way to do this is eliminating snacks or avoiding seconds at dinner. At restaurants, take half your meal home.
  4. Stop When You Feel Full Avoid that stuffed uncomfortable feeling. Stop eating when you feel content. It takes the brain a little longer to register that your belly has had enough. Stopping before you reach that point saves a few calories and that nasty feeling of being stuffed.
  5. Get Moving Very few people have lost significant amounts of weight living a sedentary lifestyle. If you want to see the pounds melt off, get off the couch. Play some basketball with the guys.  Walk your dog or take a nightly stroll with your girlfriend. The point is to get out there and burn a few more calories than you have been.
  6. Savor the Junk Chances are you will not give up that chili dog and fries, but maybe you can savor it for a treat. Allow yourself a treat or indulgence on your favorite foods every now and then. Knowing that you can still have your favorites occasionally will keep you on track and not feeling deprived.
  7. Add Fiber Subsisting regular food for high fiber food is easy. Chose 100% whole wheat bread over white bread, or opt for sweet potato fries over regular. Foods high in fiber take the body longer to digest leaving you fuller longer.
  8. Eat Your Veggies Mamma was right, vegetables are good for you and you need eat them every day. Adding them to your meals is easy. You can add spinach or peppers to your morning omelet, or add a salad to lunch and dinner.
  9. Weight Training Lifting weights burns fat, because muscle burns fat even after the work out is over. Add weight lifting into your work out and you will see the difference.
  10. Stay Motivated Everyone falls off track now and then. Do not beat yourself up over it. Re-commit and get right back on track. Figure out what lead you off the path and plan how you can better handle the situation next time.
