Here are 10 winter date ideas to make the winter seem so much more enjoyable. While winter looks so beautiful, it can be a drag always feeling like you have to freeze or are stuck inside. Here are a few ways to keep your dating life exciting and take full advantage of the winter beauty and fun while avoiding the freezing temperatures.

  1. Plan a ski or snowboarding trip. If you are an avid skier or snowboarder then planning a ski trip is a great ideal for you and your partner! You can enjoy all the beauty of the snow while staying warm inside your hotel as well as while rushing down that fresh powder on the mountain.
  2. Watch a winter sporting event. Stop by your local ice rink and watch a hockey game or see your professional hockey team when they are in town. You can also watch local ice skating competitions or training. What better way to stay warm than watching everyone else work themselves into a sweaty frenzy?
  3. Go on an ice skating date. If you really want to be romantic and make your girl feel like she lives in the movies then suggest you go ice skating at your local rink or lake. It is a great way to stay warm as well as make some great memories together. Isn't that what a winter date is all about?
  4. Build a snowman in your yard. Bundle up and go outside to play in the snow! Build a giant snowman then go inside and drink cocoa while you watch snow fall around your perfectly built snowman. Or you can opt to drink the cocoa by a nice warm fire instead and chat about all the fun you had playing in the snow together.
  5. Winter is the perfect time for a dinner and a movie date. It is the traditional date so it screams romance without much thought or planning, which can be key when you don't know how far away the next snowstorm is. It is also a great way to enjoy new restaurants in your area while keeping up on the new releases. Some of the best movies are released in the winter after all.
  6. Go sledding at your local park. If you have a park nearby that has a great hill then why not take full advantage of it after a great snowstorm? It is free and has all the great perks of a great date, fun, excitement, cold, which means cuddling to warm up, and the great outdoors.
  7. If you are not a fan of sledding in your local area find a company that offers tubing. It has all the same perks of sledding but in most cases it will also include a great snowy drive to get to your tubing location. Don't forget to bring your hot chocolate for your breaks when you are cuddling close to warm back up.
  8. Plan a game night with just your date or more loved ones. Spending time indoors doing the same typical thing can really seem like a downer in the winter. Spice up your winter date nights with your favorite games and friends.
  9. Plan a romantic dinner and movie at home. Making dinner together as a couple will help you stay warm and be close to each other. After enjoying your warm dinner curl up on the couch with a blanket and great movie. If you want to make it even more romantic you can eat your dinner and watch your movie in front of the fireplace.
  10. Order in food and relax watching you favorite TV series or reading together. Sometimes finding the simple yet personal way to spend time with your spouse can be the most enjoyable way. Just do what you enjoy doing the most as a couple. If you always watch a show together and it's built up on your DVR then take a night where you turn the phones off and catch up on you neglected TV shows. Or read through your favorite books together.
