The 5 best antique wrist watches are a matter of debate, since there are many different watch styles to choose from. The amount that you will pay depends on how willing the seller is to part with their antique wrist watches. Once you know the brand you want to buy, check online and at jewelry and antique shops for the watch. You may just be able to find the vintage watch that you want.

  1. Rolex Submariner. Rolex started offering its Submariner model in the early 1950’s. James Bond wore this type of watch during the early days of the series. New Submariners often cost over $6,000, so to purchase an antique model you may have to pay even more.
  2. Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronograph. It is hard not to like a watch that was the first brand to be worn on the moon, which the Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronograph was back in 1969. Introduced in 1957, this watch is also called “The Moonwatch” in honor of its space travel history.
  3. Bulova Accutron. Bulova’s Accutron model was the first electronic watch ever made when it was developed in the 1960’s. You may be able to find one of these watches if you do some research, since 4 million Accutrons were sold before Bulova stopped producing the model in the late 70’s.
  4. Seiko Astron. For a vintage model such as the world’s first quartz watch called the Seiko Astron, you will have to shell out well into the 1,000’s of dollars. Seiki started offering this model over 40 years ago for roughly $1,250.
  5. HamiltonFlight II. Almost 100 years ago Hamilton introduced their wristwatches, and today they remain a favorite among vintage watch collectors. The Flight II model has been known to sell for well into the 1,000’s of dollars as well.
