When looking for the 5 best popular Internet radio sites two things are important: good music and free music. Whether using your computer, or any portable device, you want to have the best music at your fingertips and playing with a click of a button. Here is the list of the 5 best popular Internet radio sites:

  1.  Pandora Radio. By far the best popular Internet radio on the web, Pandora uses its Music Genome Project to guarantee you only hear music you want to hear. All you do is type in a band or singer that you love, and Pandora radio will play your choice and any other performers with similar music. You can create multiple stations with your different tastes, or type in all your favorites for one huge station that plays it all. Of course, Pandora will still probably play something you don't like, but all you have to do is skip the song. One ad plays every few songs, but it is the fewest number of commercials compared to the other Internet radio web sites.
  2. Live365. Another one of the best popular Internet radio sites, Live365 plays set radio stations based on genre. If you sign up on the site, any stations you choose will be saved for easy access later. You can search a band or performer and find any stations that play them or their genre of music. Or, you can browse their 1000 stations and give a listen to any that sound interesting. What's great about Live365 is that the music plays on a small pop-up instead of the entire web page.
  3. SHOUTcast Radio. SHOUTcast Radio is similar to Live365 in that you choose stations based on genre. They also have a small radio player that pops up. With their radio player you can continue to browse other stations and switch to a new one in moments. Or, you can play SHOUTcast Radio on your own media player such as Windows Media Player or Winamp. You are less likely to accidentally click out of your own media player than a web page.
  4. Jango. Jango is one of the best popular Internet radio sites that claims to play only the music you want, and that is exactly what it does. You type in a band or performer and Jango will play it. This popular Internet radio site will continue to play the music of that chosen band and anything similar. The more bands and singers you add to your personal station, the more music you get to listen to. Jango is very similar to Pandora radio.
  5. AOL Radio. AOL Radio plays the stations you love. It is a popular Internet radio that works very much like Live365 and SHOUTcast Radio. Browse their list of radio stations including Top 40 hits from every decade, and AOL Radio will play it for you. Their Top Ten lists are also a great way to find new music.
