5 Best Threesome Scenes In Movies

This list of the 5 best threesome scenes in movies shows how things that are difficult to accomplish in life become simple feats in films. In action movies, stunt performers leap from crashing vehicles; in romantic movies, couples find a third partner for a sexual fling. Threesomes, like daring leaps, may be rare and risky in real life, but the following five scenes make them look all too easy.

  1. “Wild Things.” Of all movie threesomes, this may be the most famous; it certainly earned “Wild Things” instant notoriety when it was released in 1998. Lucky Matt Dillon finds himself the center point in a triangle formed by bad girl Denise Richards and badder girl Neve Campbell. The film was one of the first to be released on video in a longer, uncensored edition; it also launched Denise and “the twins” into the public spotlight.
  2. “Y Tu Mama Tambien.” This 2001 award-winning Mexican film was about a different kind of threesome: two young men and the older woman who has offered to show them the world, literally and otherwise. The climactic threesome reveals previously hidden depths of character. “Mama’s” daring approach to sex was one of the elements that endeared it to audiences around the world.

  3. “Summer Lovers.” While vacationing in Greece, Peter Gallagher can’t choose between girlfriend Daryl Hannah and lovely local archaeologist Valerie Quennessen. Fortunately, he doesn’t have to, because the two women like each other…a lot. Soon all three are sharing a bed, in the sexy 1982 film that launched Hannah’s career.

  4. “Threesome.” A college admissions error brings together unlikely roommates Lara Flynn Boyle, Stephen Baldwin and Josh Charles. One guy is gay and the other is straight; guess which one she falls for? She’s cute, he’s not sure, the other guy is, and soon all three of them are sharing a bed. That’s college for you.
  5. “Lake Consequence.” Bored, restless housewife Joan Severance gets accidentally abducted in this 1993 drama by “9 ½ Weeks” writer Zalman King. King made a lot of guilty-pleasure movies in the ‘90s, and this is one of the better ones. Severance joins beefy Billy Zane and his girlfriend, May Karasun, for some nude swimming. Later, during a stop at a Chinatown bathhouse, one thing leads to another, which leads to a third, in one of King’s most stylish love scenes.
