The 5 best UFC knockouts of 2008 were as devastating as any knockouts before that time or after. Some of the greats were showcased here, as middleweight champion Anderson Silva, Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell, “Rampage” Jackson, and long time Pride champion Wanderlei Silva all contributed to the cause, for better or worse in 2008. The impressive striking of these combatants were the deciding factor in who wins and who takes the loss.

  1. UFC 88. Rashad Evans KO's Chuck Liddell. This fight was the next level for Rashad Evans and his meteoric rise to the top. In his way was the premiere striker in the UFC, Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell. Round one saw an evenly matched fight until round two. Rashad slams an overhand right that puts Liddell to sleep for a good two minutes, when he came too Liddell asked “ What happened?”. Indeed Chuck, what happened?.

  1. Fight Night 14. Anderson Silva Ko's James “Sandman” Irvin. Silva dominated the middleweight class and wanted to go to the light heavyweight division to test the waters. The ever dangerous Irvin stood in his way. Anderson throws some punches, Irvin goes for a kick, Silva caught it and knocks Irvin out with a punch to the face. Less than a minute from the start of the fight it was all over.

  1. UFC 84. Wanderlei Silva Ko's Keith Jardine. “The Axe Murder” Silva needed a win to keep from getting released in the UFC, Jardine had something to prove to the UFC. Round one starts and both men go for broke, a huge left hand from Silva drops Jardine. Silva swarms on the hurt Jardine and finishes him with brutal ground and pound while holding Jardine with one hand around his throat.

  1. UFC 92. Rampage Ko's Wanderlei Silva. In Pride Fighting Championship, Silva Knocked out Rampage twice in brutal fashion. Now, Rampage has a chance for redemption at UFC 92. Rampage stalks Wanderlei and slams him with a hard left that knocks Wanderlei out cold, Rampage gives him two more shots for good measure after the fact to get his redemption.

  1. UFC 91. Brock Lesnar Ko's Randy Couture. This was the match between the young lion of the heavyweight division and the Hall of Fame veteran trying to hold on to his position in the company. Lesnar tore through Couture in the first round and was ready for the second to begin as he was still fresh. The bell rang and Lesnar pounded out the TKO win with punches on the ground that made Couture look weak.
