5 Card Poker Rules
If you are new to the gambling world, then one of the first games you need to know the rules to is five card poker. With these five card poker rules, you’ll be well on your way to playing on that poker show that absolutely no one watches! These rules are absolutely necessary for you to be knowledgeable so as to not look like a new and inexperienced player that has just joined the game of five card poker.
- The first thing you need to know is the ranks of cards that you can get and what beats what. The ranks from lowest to highest are high card (single highest card in hand), pair (two cards of the same kind), two pair (two pair of two cards of the same kind), three of a kind (three cards of the same kind), straight (five cards in a row( i.e. 2 3 4 5 6 of any suit), flush (five cards of same suit), full house (three of a kind and two of a kind), four of a kind (four cards of the same kind), straight flush (five cards in a row and the same suit), and royal flush (ten, jack, queen, king and ace of the same suit)
- You start every game by first placing the minimum bet. This bet will occur before you are dealt your hand and each table is different for the minimum that you can bet! Be sure that you pick a table that will allow you to make the minimum bet and also have money left over to be able to up your bet as you go on in the game!
- You make raise or fold after you receive your five cards. The trick is to start learning about what hands are more likely to win and what aren’t. Don’t ever be afraid to call or raise, but also like the song says, you got to know when to hold em and know when to fold em!
- After you make your second set of bets, you can trade in one, two or three of your cards. The trick to this is to have extensive knowledge of the types of hands and decide which type you have the best chance of getting!
