5 Celebrity Scandals 2008

Celebrities are the sample population of a society that is fueled by good looks, incredible talent and huge pitfalls as these 5 celebrity scandals in 2008 show.  These members of society live lives that a majority of Americans will never be able to live.  Celebrities are people both young and old look up to.  We enjoy celebrities when they are good, but we love them when they are bad! 

1. Madonna.  Madonna is the queen of pop music and has enjoyed world wide popularity for over 30 years.  She has devoted the majority of her time to world charity and her 2008 celebrity scandal was a shock to all.  Madonna filed for divorce from popular movie director Guy Ritchie.  Reports of trouble within the marriage started to erupt when pictures and sightings of Madonna and Alex Rodriguez affair scandal surfaced.
2. Britney Spears. Britney was the heir to the title queen of pop music.  She came on the scene in the late 90's as a sexed-up teen queen.  Her string of celebrity scandals can be marked around the time of her break up with former N’Sync member Justin Timberlake.  Shortly thereafter Britney married, got divorced, and then married again to Kevin Federline.  The couple divorced, and on January 3, 2008 Britney Spears was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  A psychiatric evaluation was performed following the refusal to give back her son the father for visitation. 
3. The Hogan Family.  This celebrity family was portrayed as the loving nuclear family of modern day Hollywood.  Their hit VH1 hit reality TV series “Hogan Knows Best” ran for three seasons.  Things started to get rough when Hulk Hogan’s son Nick spent eight months in jail for reckless driving charges.  In 2008, Hulk Hogan’s wife Linda Bollea filed for divorce, and started dating a nineteen year old classmate of their daughter Brooke Hogan.  Reality television can turn a close knit family into a celebrity headline scandal.
4. Eliot Spitzer.  The infamous governor of New York resigned following the scandal surrounding a female escort named Ashley Dupre.  The whole affair ended the governor’s career but was the spark for Ms. Dupre.  Ashley Dupre has become a celebrity of sorts, and has started a singing career following the scandal.
5. David Duchovny.  It is said that art often imitates life which is perfectly cited in the David Duchovny celebrity scandal.  Duchovny stars as a sex starved writer in the TV series “Californication”.  However, in real life, David Duchnovy checked into a rehab clinic due to a sex addiction problem.  Some may say that it was a research project for Duchovny.  The stint has not hurt his public image, and he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work in “Californication”.
