5 Colon Rectal Cancer Symptoms
Do you want to know five of the symptoms of colon rectal cancer? This article will help you figure out when it’s time to call the doctor and when you don’t have to worry. Keep in mind that some of these symptoms can also be signs of other diseases. Keep a diary of when you have any of these symptoms so you can accurately tell your doctor what’s going on:
- Constipation. If you start experiencing constipation, this could be an early sign of colon rectal cancer. It could also be caused by a change in diet, travel, or other medication. If this is your only symptom, try to figure out when it’s happening before you call your doctor.
- Bloody Stools. This is one of the main symptoms of colon rectal cancer. If you experience bloody stools more than once start tracking your symptoms and call your doctor. Bright red blood often indicates a problem.
- Unexpected weight loss. If you’re not trying to lose weight, and all of a sudden none of your clothes fit, it could be a symptom of colon rectal cancer. If there is a blockage in the colon it will prevent your body from absorbing your food, causing weight loss.
- Vomiting. If you just throw up once, it could be from eating bad food, or catching a flu virus, or drinking too much. However, if you are vomiting regularly, and you have any other symptoms of colon rectal cancer, you need to make an appointment with your doctor. A blockage in the digestive system often causes vomiting.
- Fatigue. When there’s a blockage in the colon caused by a tumor, fatigue caused by low iron levels is another symptom of colon rectal cancer. One day of being tired is not enough, but if you feel like you’re constantly tired, it’s a symptom you need to tell your doctor about.
Remember – colon rectal cancer is very serious and you should contact your doctor if you have any of the symptoms on this list for several days in a row. Even if it is not cancer, it’s better to be on the safe side. If it is cancer, you can start getting treatments early.
