5 Dessert Recipes For Samhain
These 5 dessert recipes for Samhain will be the perfect end to your harvest day celebrations. Many of these recipes are simple, making it possible for you to make each of them and host a dessert party.
To make Samhain apple butter muffins, you will need:
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 3/4 cup apple butter
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/4 cup skim milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 tbsp. honey
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup raisins
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and ginger in a bowl. Mix thoroughly.
- In separate bowl combine apple butter, applesauce, skim milk, eggs, honey, vanilla and raisins.
- Slowly combine wet ingredients into dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly.
- Place muffin liners in muffin pan.
- Spoon equal amounts of batter into twelve baking cups.
- Bake Samhain muffins for twenty minutes. Muffins are done when toothpick inserted in the center comes out with no traces of batter.
- Serve the Samhain dessert warmed or at room temperature.
To make Samhain popcorn balls, you will need:
- 8 cups popcorn, popped
- 1 cup candy corn
- 1 bag of marshmallows, large sized
- 1/4 cup butter
- Place candy and popcorn in large bowl and mix.
- Melt butter saucepan.
- Add marshmallows to butter. Stir mixture constantly until marshmallows are melted.
- Remove marshmallow mixture from heat and pour over popcorn mixture.
- Let mixture cool for five to ten minutes.
- Grease hands with a little amount of butter and remove approximately two tbsp. of mixture from bowl.
- Form into a ball. Repeat with remainder of mixture.
- Serve the dessert popcorn balls stacked on a tray.
To make easy Samhain pumpkin pie, you will need:
- 1 9 inch pre-made pie crust
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding
- 1 15 oz. can of pumpkin
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp. each nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon
- 1 cup whipped topping
- Mix pudding, pumpkin, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger in medium bowl. Mix to combine.
- Add whipped topping to mixture. Mix until combined.
- Pour mixture into pie shell.
- Place pie in freezer for at least four hours.
- Let stand five to ten minutes before slicing.
- Serve the easy dessert with an extra dollop of whipped topping, if desired.
To make Samhain witches broomsticks, you will need:
- 1 package peanut butter cookie mix
- 16 pretzel rods, small
- 2 oz. semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 1 container or tube of orange frosting (can make using food coloring)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees or as directed on cookie package.
- Prepare cookie mix according to directions.
- Form sixteen balls, about 1 1/4 inches large from mix.
- Press ball onto end of each pretzel.
- Using a fork, press its times flat into the dough.
- Bake according to package directions. Remove from heat and let set aside.
- Melt chocolate over low heat on stove.
- After melted, spoon a small amount over each cookie ball. Let cool.
- Decorate the pretzel with frosting.
- Serve the Samhain dessert recipe when completely cooled.
To make an easy dessert of a cookie graveyard, you will need:
- 3 cups milk, chilled
- 2 4 oz. packages instant chocolate pudding
- 1 12 oz. container whipped topping, thawed and divided
- 15 chocolate cookies, crushed
- Pour milk into bowl, add pudding and mix for five minutes.
- Let stand for five to ten minutes.
- Add three cups whipped topping and 1/2 crushed cookies. Mix thoroughly.
- Place into glass baking dish.
- Sprinkle remaining cookies on mixture. Chill for at least one hour.
- Serve the easy Samhain dessert chilled.
