5 Easter Breakfast Recipes

Before hunting for eggs and raiding candy baskets, feed your family right with these 5 Easter breakfast recipes. Whether you’re in the mood for muffins, pancakes or eggs, these breakfast recipes are sure to leave you full and ready to celebrate Easter.

Poppy Seed Muffins

Poppy seed muffins make a healthy start to your morning.  This Easter Breakfast recipe can be prepared the night before, leaving you free to enjoy your coffee.

To make poppy seed muffins, you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of Bisquick
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • Poppy seeds

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine milk and Bisquick in a mixing bowl.
  3.  Fill paper lined muffin cups half full.
  4.  In a separate mixing bowl, stir eggs and salt into cream cheese.
  5.  Spoon mixture on top of batter.
  6.  Liberally sprinkle poppy seeds over muffins.  
  7. Bake for twenty minutes, or until muffin tops turn a light golden color.

Monkey Bread

Monkey Bread is an Easter breakfast recipe the kids will love. Combine biscuits sugar and cinnamon to create a treat that the whole family can help prepare.

To make Monkey Bread, you’ll need:

  • 3 cans of biscuits
  • 2 cup of sugar
  • 3 tbs. cinnamon
  • 1 tbs. honey
  • 1 cup of margarine
  • Bundt Pan

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
  2. Cut eat biscuit into strips, about four per biscuit.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Roll biscuits in sugar and cinnamon and place in Bundt pan.
  5. In a measuring cup, melt margarine and add sugar and honey.
  6. Pour mixture over dough.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove from pan immediately to avoid sticking.

Pecan Pancakes

Pecan pancakes are scrumptious and filling.  Serve this Easter breakfast recipe with maple syrup, or sprinkle powder sugar on top for a tasty surprise.

To make Pecan pancakes, you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 3 tsp. of baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. of salt
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 6 tbs. of vegetable oil

Directions:

  1. Heat frying pan, or griddle, on medium low heat.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. 
  3. Add condensed milk, oil, pecans and egg yolks, mixing until well blended and smooth.
  4. Fold egg whites into batter.
  5. Melt butter in pan.
  6. Drop batter by large spoonful onto pan to form pancakes.
  7. When edges looked cooked and small bubbles form, flip the pancake.
  8. Cook until golden brown on both sides.

Omelet

Omelets are a traditional Easter breakfast recipe. Fill your omelet with all your favorites for a healthy breakfast.

To make an omelet, you’ll need:

  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbs. of sliced onions
  • 1 tbs. of sour cream
  • 2 tbs. of guacamole
  • ¼ cup of shredded cheese
  • 1 tbs. of butter

Directions:

  1. Heat butter in a small frying pan on low heat.
  2. Beat eggs in a small mixing bowl.
  3. Pour eggs into pan. 
  4. As egg cooks, shape into a circle with spatula.
  5. Add cheese and onions on one side of the eggs. Continue cooking.
  6. Dab guacamole over cheese.
  7. Using the spatula, fold eggs over to form a semi circle.
  8. Flip to make sure eggs are cooked evenly on both sides.
  9. Serve with sour cream.

Bacon

Easter breakfast is not complete without a side of bacon. Serve this Easter breakfast recipe with eggs, or a side of toast.

To make bacon, you’ll need:

  • Bacon
  • Frying pan
  • Spatula

Directions:

  1. Heat frying pan to medium heat.
  2. Add bacon.
  3. Flip bacon with a fork, so that it will cook evenly.
  4. If grease begins popping, turn heat down.
  5. Continue cooking until bacon has shrunken in size and crisp.
  6. Remove from pan and place on paper towels to absorb grease.
