1. Turtle Candies
These classics are easier than they seem!
You will need:
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 24 soft caramel candies
- 4 ounces pecan/walnut halves
- Prep your materials. Unwrap all the caramel candies, and cover a cookie sheet with foil. Find a microwavable bowl for melting the chocolate. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
- Start placing the pecan or walnut halves. Place the halves to look like a turtle's body. Then, place one caramel in the middle of each "turtle".
- Bake the turtles and melt your chocolate. Bake the turtles for about ten minutes, until the caramel starts to melt. Heat the chocolate in 30-second increments in the microwave until it's smooth.
- Cover the candies in chocolate. Put them in the fridge to chill for an hour.
2. Easy Fudge
This recipe only requires a microwave!
You will need:
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 4 tablespoons of milk
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 tablespoons vanilla
- Optional: nuts, peppermint pieces
- Prep your materials. Line an eight-inch casserole dish with wax paper. Put the sugar and the cocoa in a microwavable bowl and stir the two together.
- Add the milk and the butter. Just add-don't mix!
- Heat the ingredients. Put the bowl in the microwave for two minutes. When it's done, mix everything together. Add the vanilla and your candy/nuts/etc.
- Pour everything into the casserole dish. Chill for about three hours. Cut and serve.
3. Popcorn Marshmallow Treats
These candies are similar to Rice Krispies Treats, but with a holiday twist.
You will need:
- 1/2 cup popcorn
- 1/2 stick butter
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 5 candy canes
- Prep your materials. Pop the popcorn. Crush the candy canes into small pieces.
- Melt the butter in a large pan. Add the marshmallows. Stir together for about two minutes.
- Add the popcorn and candy canes. Fold them into the mixture until everything is combined.
- Form the popcorn mixture into balls. Cool for an hour and serve.
4. Peanut Butter Squares
Reese's won't know what hit them!
You will need:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 cups crunchy peanut butter
- Splash vanilla
- Prep your kitchen. Line a nine-by-thirteen inch pan with foil.
- Melt the chocolate in a microwavable bowl. Heat for 30-send increments until smooth.
- Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla. Mix together completely. Wait until the mixture is hard. Cut it into squares.
5. Hay Stacks These old favorites are simple and delicious.
You will need:
- 1/2 cup chow mein noodles
- 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup coconut
- Prep your kitchen. Line a baking sheet with foil.
- Melt the chips. Put the butterscotch and chocolate in a microwavable bowl. Heat for 30-second increments until smooth.
- Mix in the noodles and coconut. Form into "haystacks". Set them on the baking sheet. Place in the fridge for about two hours and serve.
