5 Easy Easter Treat Recipes

Celebrate the holiday with these 5 easy Easter treat recipes. Traditionally, Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, but it has been sent through the consumer machine and become an occasion to celebrates spring, bunnies, fluffy chicks and of course, indulge in tasty treats. If you are short on time these recipes will deliver quick and yummy solutions to satisfy the craving for sweets.

 

Crispy Rice Eggs

Ingredients:

  • 1 package marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package rice crisp cereal
  1. Microwave. Put marshmallows and butter in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high for three minutes.  Stir the mixture after two minutes and finish heating. Stir until both the marshmallows and butter are smooth.
  2. Add the cereal. Stir in the cereal until well mixed.
  3. Shape the eggs. Use a large spoon to scoop out the mixture half a cup at a time. Shape into an egg and place on a wax paper covered cookie sheet.
  4. Presentation. Once cooled, place the eggs into a decorative bowl.

 

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 6 teaspoons softened butter
  • 2 cups confectioner's sugar
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  1. Mix. Stir peanut butter, softened butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  2. Melt the chocolate. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chocolate on high for two minutes. Stir. Heat and stir in thirty second intervals until smooth.
  3. Shape. Scoop out the peanut butter mixture with a spoon and shape into small balls. Place them onto a wax paper covered cookie sheet.
  4. Cover in chocolate. Roll the balls in melted chocolate until thoroughly covered. Place back onto the cookie sheet to cool.

 

Bird's Nest

Ingredients:

  • 1 package grated coconut
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  • 2 cups jelly beans
  1. Melt the chocolate. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chocolate on high for two minutes. Stir. Heat and stir in thirty second intervals until smooth.
  2. Mix. Add the coconut into the chocolate bowl. Mix until the coconut is all coated.
  3. Shape the nest. Scoop out a tablespoon of the chocolate coconut mixture and shape into a ball. Flatten into a disk and make an indent in the center with your finger. Place three jellybeans into the center.

 

Chocolate Lollipops

Ingredients and special equipment:

  • 1 package chocolate candy melts
  • Cardboard lollipop sticks
  • Easter themed candy lollipop mold
  1. Prepare the mold. Some candy molds suggest a light spraying of baking spray. Read the directions on the package and prepare according to their guidelines. Place the sticks in the mold.
  2. Melt the chocolate. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chocolate on high for two minutes. Stir. Heat and stir in thirty second intervals until smooth.
  3. Pour. Slowly pour the chocolate into the candy mold. Fix the stick if if has shifted.
  4. Set aside. Let the chocolate cool and set up on the counter. Once hardened, turn the tray upside down and pop the lollipops out.

 

Colorful Egg Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3 colors of tubed icing
  • Premade sugar cookie dough
  1. Roll out the dough. Spread the dough out on a floured surface with a rolling pin. Cut out egg shapes with a knife or a cookie cutter.
  2. Bake. Follow package directions for baking the dough.
  3. Ice the cookies. Spread a base color of icing onto each cookie. Use the other colors to add designs.
