5 Easy Fun Easter Recipes

If you're cooking for a small crowd, then these 5 easy fun Easter recipes are for you!  Of course, if you are cooking for a larger crowd, you can double the quantities shown and make them a part of your holiday dinner as well.  When you're short on time, these easy fun Easter recipes are a lifesaver!

Quick Sweet Ham Steak

You will need:

  • Fully cooked ham steak (about 2 pounds)
  • 5 tbsp. butter
  • 5 tbsp. light brown sugar
  1. Brown the ham.  This easy recipe cooks up quick, but tastes out of this world!  In a skillet, brown both sides of the ham steak on medium heat.
  2. Remove the ham.  Remove ham and set aside.  In the same skillet, melt the butter and stir in brown sugar until smooth. 
  3. Coat the ham.  Place the ham back in the skilled and coat it with the sweet sauce.
  4. Cook.  Cook ham an additional five to ten minutes or until it is heated through.  Serve.

Spinach Deviled Eggs

You will need:

  • 12 boiled eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup frozen chopped spinach (thawed and squeezed dry)
  1. Half eggs.  Cut eggs in half and remove yolks. 
  2. Make filling.  In a bowl, mash up the yolks and add all the other ingredients. 
  3. Fill eggs.  Return the yolk mixture into the egg whites. If your guests don't like spinach, simply omit it from the recipe.
  4. Chill.  Chill (covered) in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

 Crunchy Potato Strips

You will need:

  • 4 medium potatoes (peeled and cut into strips)
  • 1 cup crushed Corn Flakes
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  1. Make coating.  This is one of the easy fun Easter recipes that kids and adults both enjoy.  The potatoes come out crunchy and slightly sweet.  To make, simply combine all the ingredients (except potatoes) in a bowl.
  2. Coat potatoes.  Add the potatoes and coat well with mixture.
  3. Bake.  Place the potatoes on a foil-lined baking sheet.  Bake at 350 for an hour.

Glazed Carrots

You will need:

  • 16 ounces baby carrots
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Envelope of dry ranch salad dressing mix
  1. Cook the carrots.  Place carrots in a skillet and add water.  Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low.  Cover and cook for eight to ten minutes. 
  2. Remove.  Remove and drain carrots. 
  3. Add other ingredients.  Add butter, salad dressing mix and brown sugar to the skillet and cook on low heat until smooth. 
  4. Finish cooking.  Return the carrots to the mixture and cook for another ten minutes, stirring frequently.  Serve warm.

French Cheese Bread

You will need:

  • Loaf of french bread
  • Butter
  • Garlic powder
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  1. Slice the bread. Cut french bread into 1" slices and place on a foil-lined cookie sheet. 
  2. Season.  Spread butter on each slice and sprinkle with garlic powder. 
  3. Top with cheese.  Top each slice with a little of both types of cheese.
  4. Bake. Bake at 400 for eight to ten minutes.  Serve warm.

As you can see, all of these easy fun Easter recipes will be simple to make and the entire meal can be thrown together in two hours or less.  Enjoy your meal!
