5 Easy Independence Day Dessert Recipes

Planning for a Fourth of July celebration has never been easier with this list of 5 east Independence Day dessert recipes.

Fruit Flag Cake Dessert. This makes a simple cake that is decorative and healthier than heavy topping!

Ingredients:

  • 1 box white or yellow cake mix
  • One container white frosting
  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • 4 cups of raspberries or chopped strawberries
  1. Prepare cake mix according to box directions. Allow to cool.
  2. Frost the cake with a thin layer of frosting, making sure to cover the cake without overloading the cake.
  3. Put four rows of four blueberries each in the top left corner.
  4. Fill in the remaining top rows with raspberries or strawberries.
  5. Create solid rows on the bottom part of the cake with raspberries and strawberries to create a flag shape.

Red, White and Blue Pudding Dessert. Create a delicious and low calorie dessert!

Ingredients:

  • 3 boxes instant vanilla pudding
  • 5 cups blueberries
  • 5 cups strawberries, chopped
  1. Prepare vanilla pudding according to box directions.
  2. Fill the bottom of a glass bowl with vanilla pudding, any amount you desire.
  3. Cover the pudding with one cup blueberries.
  4. Cover the blueberries with more vanilla pudding.
  5. Cover the pudding in one cup strawberries.
  6. Continue, alternating pudding and fruits until the bowl is full.

Red, White and Blue Popsicles. This is a delicious way to cool off in the summer!

Ingredients:

  • Small clear cups (30 count bag or more)
  • Popsicle sticks (one for each cup)
  • Blue PowerAde or Gatorade
  • Lemonade
  • Red PowerAde or Gatorade
  • Aluminum foil
  1. Fill the bottom third of the cup with the blue drink. Cover cups with a piece of aluminum foil, and stick a Popsicle stick through the foil and into the liquid. The foil will help keep the Popsicle stick straight as it freezes. Place cups in freezer for half an hour.
  2. Pull cups out of the freezer, and discard the foil. You no longer need it. Fill another third of the cup with lemonade, and put them back in the freezer for half an hour.
  3. Pull cups out of freezer, and top the cups off with the red drink. Place back in the freezer, and allow the cups to freeze completely.
  4. Serve popsicles in the cup.

Granola Parfait Dessert. This is the perfect dessert dish for a breakfast celebration! 

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups granola
  • 5 cups vanilla yogurt
  • 5 cups strawberries, chopped
  • 5 cups blueberries
  1. Fill the bottom of the glass with vanilla yogurt, and top with granola.
  2. Put on a layer of strawberries.
  3. Put on another layer of vanilla yogurt and granola.
  4. Put on a layer of blueberries.
  5. Alternative the yogurt/granola mix and fruit until you reach the top of the glass.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. This is a very patriotic twist on a classic dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 2 dozen strawberries, whole
  • 2 cups white chocolate, melted
  • Blue icing
  1. Dip the strawberries in the white chocolate, and lay them on a waxed covered cookie sheet.
  2. Place the cookie sheet in the fridge so the chocolate can firm up.
  3. When the chocolate is firm, pull the strawberries out of the fridge. Drizzle blue icing across the white chocolate part of the strawberry.
  4. Serve on a tray.
