5 Easy Passover Recipes
Here are 5 easy Passover recipes are sure to please your Peshach guests. There are many easy Passover recipes, you just have to be mindful that you cannot include anything on the Passover table that is made with flour or yeast. It can be a bit challenging with these limitations to put on a great Passover spread but it can be done.
To make Passover charoseh, you will need:
- One red apple, diced in small pieces
- Diced walnuts
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Manischewitz grape wine
- Mix the apple and walnuts in a bowl.
- Mix the cinnamon and sugar and combine with the apples and walnuts.
- Add just enough Manischewitz grape wine to moisten the mixture. Charoseh is best made the day before it graces your Passover table as the flavors have time to meld together. Serve with fresh pieces of matzo.
To make fried matzo for Pesach, you will need:
- Two boards of matzo
- Two eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil
- Moisten matzo under running water and crumble into a colander to drain.
- Lightly scramble the two eggs and add the matzo. Toss to combine.
- Heat vegetable oil and add patties of the matzo and egg. Brown fried matzo thoroughly and drain on paper towels. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with sour cream.
To make roasted chicken, you will need:
- One chicken
- Four potatoes
- One stalk of celery, diced
- One large carrot, diced
- One onion, diced
- Rinse chicken and place in a roasting pan.
- Add potatoes, onion, celery and carrot around the rim of the pan.
- Cover and cook at 350F for one hour or until the juices in the leg run clear when the skin is pierced with a fork.
To make baked Passover cauliflower, you will need:
- One head of cauliflower, separated into small pieces
- Two eggs, scrambled lightly mixed with 1/2 tsp onion salt and 1/2 tsp celery seed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Microwave cauliflower pieces until soft.
- Dip each piece in the egg mixed with onion salt and celery seed.
- Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 350F oven for twenty minutes. Serve with a side of sour cream.
To make an easy Passover dessert of macaroons, you will need:
- 14 ounces of coconut
- One can sweetened condensed milk
- 3 egg whites, beat into stiff peaks
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Mix coconut and condensed milk well in a medium sized bowl. Add vanilla and mix well.
- Fold in the stiff egg whites. Fold just to combine the mixture.
- Bake at 250 for twenty minutes, just until the bottoms are browned.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drop coconut mixture by tablespoons onto paper.
