5 Easy Super Bowl Snacks

1. Trail Mix is an easy snack for Super Bowl parties: salty, sweet, and easy to eat. To make Trail Mix, you will need:

  • Peanuts
  • Cashews
  • Raisins
  • M&Ms (plain)
  • Flaked coconut
  • Large bowl
  1. Combine two pounds peanuts, two pounds cashews, one pound raisins, one pound M&Ms and 1/2 pound coconut in a large bowl.
  2. Store in airtight container.

2. Here's a take-off on the favorite cereal-mix recipe. To make this easy Super Bowl snack, you will need:

  • Crispy cereal like Crispix or Chex
  • Mixed nuts
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Small sauce pan
  • 15"x10"x1" baking pan
  1. Melt 3/4 cup butter in small sauce pan; add 3/4 cup packed brown sugar. Stir until dissolved.
  2. In a large bowl, combine six cups cereal, ten ounces mixed nuts and ten ounces pretzel sticks.
  3. Pour butter mixture over cereal mixture; stir to coat.
  4. Using 15"x10"x1" baking pan, bake one-third of mixture for eight minutes at 325-degrees. Mix and bake for six more minutes.
  5. Cool on wax paper. Repeat for rest of mixture.

3. Another easy Super Bowl snack is Horseradish Cheese Spread. To make this, you will need:

  • Double boiler
  • Processed cheese spread, like Velveeta
  • Mayonnaise
  • Horseradish
  • Assorted crackers
  1. Cut one pound of processed cheese into cubes, melt in top of double boiler. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in one cup of mayonnaise and 1/2 cup horseradish.
  3. Put spread in small bowl to serve, chill.
  4. Serve with assorted crackers.

4. This cinnamon-flavored popcorn is an easy snack to make and eat for the Super Bowl. To make it, you will need:

  • Plain popped popcorn
  • Egg white
  • Sugar
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Small bowl
  • 15"x10"x1" baking pan
  1. Spread two quarts popcorn on baking pan.
  2. Mix one egg white, 1/2 cup sugar and one teaspoon cinnamon in a small bowl.
  3. Pour egg mixture over popcorn.
  4. Bake for twenty minutes at 300 degrees. Cool completely; store in airtight container.

5. This apple dip is another easy snack for Super Bowl parties. To make it, you will need:

  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Brown sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Chopped peanuts
  • Apples
  • Bowl
  1. In a bowl, mix eight ounces cream cheese, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar and one tablespoon vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Put in small bowl or spread on plate; top with 1/2 cup chopped peanuts.
  3. Serve with six apples cut into wedges.
