5 Exciting Date Ideas

If you've been dating someone for a while and are getting bored, or if you really want to wow someone you've just met, try one of these 5 exciting date ideas.

  1. Find a fun park or theme park. Every part of the country has some type of fun park or theme park that includes some or all of the following: water slides, miniature golf, go-cart racing, roller coasters and more. Dates at these types of places are exciting because it brings out the kid in you and the person you're with, you get endorphins from the exercise, and you'll get an adrenaline rush. To kick it up a notch, start a competition!
  2. Take it underground. You may not be a big fan of dark, enclosed places, but that shouldn't stop you from planning a spelunking date. Many parts of the country boast natural caves, ranging from holes in the ground to vast structural wonders. The excitement of being beneath the earth's surface will surely translate into a tantalizing after-date kiss.
  3. Take the high ground. If caves aren't your thing, another exciting date idea involves broad vistas and terrifying drops. Whether you're climbing Mt. Katahdin or Half Dome, taking the elevator to the top of the Empire State Building or crossing a rope bridge over raging waters, the imagined danger factor will bring the two of you much closer.
  4. Speed things up. Men are usually attributed with an appreciation of cars, but both sexes can enjoy the excitement of a date involving car-based sports. And there are plenty of options to choose from. Watch a demolition derby or monster truck rally for an exciting date, or visit the race track for various different types of car races. For the extra adventurous with a few dollars to spare, there's always the option of getting into a race car yourself (along with an experienced driver, of course).
  5. Cool things down. If you're looking for exciting date ideas during the winter months, head over to the nearest mountain resort. Athletic types will enjoy skiing and snowboarding, while even the least adventurous can get a kick out of riding the tubes. Even the closest hill can provide thrills if you've got a couple of sleds. And teaching your date how to use new equipment provides lots of opportunity for hands-on time.

Tip:  Danger can be exciting, but the worst way to end a date is in the emergency room. Make sure that any potentially dangerous activity you try is done under the supervision of trained professionals.
