5 Halloween Appetizer Recipes

Here are five Halloween appetizer recipes that are quick, easy and delicious. If you are pressed for time and, like the average busy person, don't want to spend all day in the kitchen preparing complicated appetizer recipes for your Halloween party, then these tips are for you!

Quick and Easy Spider Web Dip.

Here's what you will need:

  • one can refried beans
  • taco seasoning
  • large container of prepared guacamole
  • jar of red chili peppers
  • jar of salsa
  • fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • one package cheddar cheese
  1. Fun to look at, easy and delicious, this tasty Halloween appetizer can be whipped up in minutes and your guests will thank you for it! Start out with a large platter.  Rinse the beans thoroughly and drain. Toss the beans with prepared taco seasoning. Dump the beans onto the center of your platter.
  2. Top the beans with prepared guacamole that you picked up from your local supermarket or deli.
  3. Surround the guacamole with a mixture of red chili peppers, salsa, chopped tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Take a ziploc bag and fill it with sour cream. Cut off a small corner to make a pastry bag.  
  5. Make a spider web design on top of your guacamole using your pastry bag. Decorate with a clean plastic spider.
  6. Serve with tortilla chips.

Deviled Ham Spread.

  • 3 or 4 can prepared deviled ham spread.
  • small container of sour cream
  • green pimiento-stuffed olives, chopped into small pieces
  1. Mix ham with sour cream and chopped green pimiento-stuffed olives.

Halloween Jack-o-Lantern Cheese Ball. 

  • orange cheese like cheddar or American, or canned yellow cheese
  • small package of cream cheese
  • dried onion flakes
  • black olives
  1. Soften regular cheese in the microwave or just use canned cheese. To your soft orange-colored cheese, add cream cheese and onion flakes. Mix well.
  2. Shape into a ball. Make a jack-o-lantern face on your cheese ball using black olives that have been cut into triangles. 
  3. Wrap the cheesy jack-o-lantern in plastic wrap and refrigerate appetizer until serving time.

Halloween Witches' Cauldron Spinach Dip.

Here's what you will need:

  • prepared spinach dip, either fresh or frozen
  • cut-up fresh vegetables
  1. Scout around your party or dollar store for a plastic witches' cauldron. Wash it thoroughly.
  2. Fill it with prepared spinach dip. Set the cauldron on a platter.
  3. Surround it with fresh cut-up veggies for dipping.

Halloween Cheese Ghosts.

Here's what you will need:

  • little round mozzarella balls
  • popsicle sticks
  • plastic wrap
  • white ribbon
  1. Start with those little round mozzarella balls from the deli. Stick a popsicle stick into each one.
  2. Wrap each "ghost" with plastic wrap, leaving enough for the ghost's long, flowing gown.
  3. Tie around the "neck" with white ribbon. Refrigerate appetizer until serving time.
