5 Holiday Treat Recipes

These are five holiday treat recipes you can enjoy during your holiday festivities. Add these treat recipes to your menu this holiday season for a sweet treat. Enjoy these holiday treats as you prepare your holiday meals.

Easy holiday treat recipe for rocky road cookie.

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 4 tbs. vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate mini chips 
  • 1 bag mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts 
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Mix first ten ingredients together. Slowly add flour. Then, mix in chocolate chips by hand.
  3. Grease a cookie sheet.
  4. Roll golf ball size cookie dough balls onto the cookie sheet.
  5. Press one mini-marshmallow into the middle of each cookie. Press chopped nuts onto the top of the cookie.
  6. Bake cookies for nine to ten minutes.

Easy holiday treat recipe for holly Christmas cookies.

  • 1 (16 oz.) package large marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp. green food coloring
  • 4 1/2 cups cornflakes cereal
  • 1 (2.25 oz.) package cinnamon candies
  1. Over low heat, melt together the marshmallows, butter, vanilla, and food coloring.
  2. Mix in the cornflakes cereal.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of dough on wax paper. Decorate with cinnamon candy.
  4. Set aside, and allow to cool.

Easy holiday treat recipe for eggnog cookies.

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbs. ground nutmeg
  1. Preheat oven to 300 F.
  2. Combine the first four ingredients together.
  3. In another bowl cream together the sugar and butter. Add eggnog, vanilla and egg yolks and beat until smooth.
  4. Add the flour mixture and mix well.
  5. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets an inch apart. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
  6. Bake for 23 to 25 minutes. Transfer to cool, flat surface.

Easy holiday treat recipe for golden rum cake.

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (18.25 oz.) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (3.4 oz.) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  1. Preheat oven to 325 F.
  2. Grease and flour a ten inch bundt pan.
  3. Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the bottom of the pan.
  4. Combine cake mix and pudding mix.
  5. Mix in the eggs, 1/2 cup water, oil and 1/2 cup rum.
  6. Pour batter over chopped nuts in the pan.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes. Let sit for ten minutes in the pan, then transfer it onto a serving plate.
  8. Glaze top and sides. Cake will absorb the glaze, repeat until all glaze is used.
  9. To make the glaze in a saucepan, combine butter, 1/4 cup water and a cup of sugar.
  10. Bring to a boil for five minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup rum.

Easy holiday treat recipe for fudge.

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  1. Place all ingredients except the walnuts into a large microwaveable bowl.
  2. Heat in microwave until chips are melted, about three to five minute. Stir once while heating, or stir in nuts, if desired.
  3. Pour into well-greased 8 x 8 inch glass baking dish.
  4. Refrigerate until set.
