New Year's Eve is one of the biggest annual parties for everyone in our country, so why not learn about the top 5 New Year's Eve party games that you can take part in at your next New Year's Party.

1. Charades of the Past The purpose of this game is to comically make fun  of all the craziest celeb moments during the past year. Rated as the number one of 5 New Year's Eve party games, everyone is sure to enjoy this fun time.

What You Will Need:

  • Plenty of magazines of the past year
  • Scissors
  • A large bowl
  • Newspapers

How To Play:

  1. Before your party comes around, go through all the magazines and newspapers with memorable celeb moments of the past year. Make sure you pick ones that are easy for everyone to remember and act out.
  2. Cut them from the magazines, whether it be the summary of the article, and a corresponding picture. To ensure your other guests can not  find out, you can glue it onto a regular piece of printer paper or construction paper.
  3. Fold them up, and play like a regular charades game. Have fun watching your friends act out celeb moments. Whoever guesses the most wins a prize.

2. Resolutions of the Future

The purpose of this game is to guess who wants to do what for their New Year's Resolution. This is best for a closer group of friends, which is why it is number 2 for the best 5 New Year's Eve party games.

What You Will Need:

  • 3"x5" index cards
  • Markers
  • A large bowl

How To Play

  1. As each of your guests comes into the party, ask them to write down 3 New Year's Resolutions they may have. Tell them to then fold them up and throw them into the bowl.
  2. After everyone is there that you are expecting, start pulling them out one by one. See who can guess which resolution belongs to each guest.
  3. Whoever gets the most resolutions right, make sure that they get a prize at the end of this game. See prize suggestions at the bottom.

3. Beer Pong

The purpose of this game is to see who has the best skills with aim, shooting, and drinking, of course. Voted as one of the best party games is what made it's mark as number three on the best 5 New Year's party games.

What You Will Need:

  • Flat long rectangular table
  • Plastic cups
  • Beer
  • Ping Pong Balls
  • Water

How To Play:

  1. Set up the disposable plastic cups into a triangle of six cups or ten cups on opposite sides of the table. Put extra cups with water to the side.
  2. Shoot the ping pong ball from one end of the table. If you make it into a cup, they have to drink.
  3. Whoever wins should get a prize. See prize suggestions below.

4. Dance-Off

The purpose of this game is to just have fun and see who dances the best at the party. Voted one of the top party activities landed it's spot on the 5 New Year's Eve Party Games.

What You Will Need:

  • Music
  • Dance Floor Area

How To Play:

  1. Get your guests in a group. Put on loud music which you can dance to.
  2. People who want to compete should dance and show their best moves.
  3. Whoever is voted the best by the group, which you can gauge by applause, should get a prize.

5. Truth Or Dare? 

What You Will Need:

How To Play:

  1. Go around the room taking turns. Play can start clockwise or in any manner you choose.
  2. When it is a person's turn, they get to choose whether they want to answer a question, which they MUST answer truthfully ("truth"), or perform a "dare". The questions and suggestions should be outrageous or ask the player to reveal something that might be embarrassing or a secret.
  3. Once a player answers a question ("truth") or performs a "dare", there are two options for continued play.  The player that just went can either choose the next person to play or play can continue clockwise.  Whoever just had a turn will be the person who either asks for a "truth" or presents the "dare".
  4. Typically, a person can not refuse a "dare" once it is presented. If you choose a "truth", you must answer.  You can decide penalties and alter rules to your liking.
