Knowing at least 5 South Beach diet exercises is an important part of being able to stick to the diet and make it work. The workouts don’t have to be tough to be effective. In fact, some simple and basic South Beach diet exercises should be able to help you lose the weight you want to see and keep it off too.

  1. The Run Walk Method. This is a great South Beach diet exercise because it really revs up your metabolism which aids in burning fat. Start by simply taking a walk around the block and after every three to five minutes, jog a little of the way, for about a minute. Repeat the process until you have made it around the block two times. As you continue this workout, you can increase the number of times around the block go, and the amount of time you spend running.

  2. Jumping Rope. This might sound like a kid’s game, but the truth is that this is a very effective South Beach diet exercise option. You can do it in the comfort of your own home, outside under a tree when it’s hot and windy or at your hotel when you are on vacation or a business trip. Spend at least 10 minutes at a time jumping rope and you’ll notice results within just a couple of weeks.

  3.  The Treadmill Workout. This is another variation of the run walk method, but with a twist that makes it an excellent choice as a South Beach diet exercise. You start off by walking forward for three to five minutes. Next, turn around and walk backwards for another three to five minutes. Finally turn back around and jog for another two minutes, then start the process over again until you have exercised for at least 20 minutes.

  4. Crunchies for Flat Abs. A part of being on this particular diet is to get yourself in beach shape, which is why this is one of the most popular South Beach diet exercises known to man. It’s done like a traditional sit up but instead of bringing yourself all the way up into a sitting position, you simply come up until the upper back is off the ground before going back down again.

  5. Chair Squats. Man or woman, everyone needs to tone their legs if they plan to spend anytime in shorts. For this reason, it is important not to overlook this important South Beach diet exercise. Begin by sitting on a chair that has no arms. Then stand up and slowly lower yourself toward the chair as if you are going to sit down again but stop about an inch short. Stand back up into an upright position and start all over again.
