If you're eating healthy and need to lose weight need, here are five South Beach snacks for you to enjoy. These snacks won't leave you feeling hungry and unsatisfied.

  1. Roasted Almonds. Go to a natural foods grocery store and get some raw almonds. Since you are allowed 15 almonds per snack, count out exactly how many you want, depending on how many snacks you are preparing. Rinse them in clear water. Drain on a paper towel. Arrange on a cookie sheet (which you have sprayed with cooking spray). Roast them in your over, set to 250 for about 15 minutes. You will love the crunchy, nutty goodness with no added fat or salt!. Keep 15 of these in a zip up snack bag in your desk or purse for instant snacking pleasure.

  2. Snow Peas. Snow peas are great, because you don't have to cut them, just pop them in a baggie and you are ready to go. After you have been off sugar for awhile, these are like candy! South Beach snacking never tasted so good!
  3. Pepper Strips, with sunflower pate. Red, yellow and orange bell pepper strips are yummy with or without the dip. To make the pate, simply process two cups of sunflower seeds in the food processor with 2 garlic cloves, the juice of one lemon, 1 Tb of cumin and 1 tsp salt. Store in a tightly closed container in the fridge. Keep this in the fridge for that late afternoon snack attack, and you will be satisfied until dinner.

  4. Celery With Natural Peanut Butter. The combination of savory, salty peanut butter goes well with the crisp, clean goodness of celery. This is a tried and true favorite. As long as you get the no sugar added peanut butter without trans fat, it is a healthy way to manage mid meal hunger pangs while on the South Beach Diet.

  5. String Cheese. A light, string cheese kept handy in a desk drawer or purse can help stave off the munchies and still keep you “legal.” These are inexpensive and easy to carry around no matter where you are during the day. South beach snacks are healthy snacks.

When you do your grocery shopping, stock up on these great food selections that make the five best South Beach Snacks. Having sandwich sized zip top bags will make it convenient to keep these yummy treats close at hand. And when your snacks taste this good, you will forget you're on a “diet” and just simply enjoy them.
