5 Summer Vacation Ideas

Planning a vacation can sometimes be a difficult task so here are 5 summer vacation ideas to help you get started.  Where do we go and what are we going to do when we get there are two questions that can be hard to answer.

  1. Depending on where you live and how long of a summer vacation you plan to take can help you narrow your choices.  You may only want to get away for the day so take a look at what is in a short driving distance, one to two hours, from your home.   If you live near a major city, then you will most likely have the option of going to a museum, aquarium, zoo or possible an amusement park.  Any of these can provide you with a full day of entertainment and give you the chance to unwind.
  2. If you want a one to three day getaway, you have more options.  Again, you want to look at what is within driving distance only this time you can look at what is within a four to five hour range.   If you are within that distance to a beach, then that is always a good choice.  There is typically a lot of entertainment to be found at beaches or you can just lie around and enjoy the beach and the ocean.
  3. Another idea is renting an RV and plan a road trip.  This way you can stop when you want at any of the RV camp sites you will see along the way.  This is also a great way to take in a National Park or some other place, such as Disneyworld, that has a RV park just waiting for you.
  4. Looking for a longer summer vacation that will last a week or more? You have many options.  Look first at how much money you have to spend and second how you plan to get there.  You can still look into places that you can drive to and maybe even plan in a stop along the way.  Or you can travel by plane so that you spend less of your summer vacation traveling and doing more relaxing.  Look into an exotic get away such as going to Hawaii or the Bahamas.  There are many resorts you can choose from that offer all inclusive deals, meaning everything you need is included in a package price.  Some of these resorts have everything a vacationer needs which means there is no need to leave them once you arrive.
  5. You choices of summer vacation spots are unlimited, take time to choose which best suit you.  Is it only you and your friend, spouse or partner?  Maybe your family which includes children, if so look at something appropriate for their age group.  Or you can look into a taking a larger group of family and friends, if this is the case many places offer group rates which can save everyone money.

No matter where you go or what you do, the better you plan out your summer vacation the better your summer vacation will most likely be.  Don't forget to take lots of pictures to put in your scrapbook!
