Check out this list of 5 Super Bowl Food Recipes for unique and delicious ideas.
- Make a meat-lover’s platter. Just pop some frozen meatballs in the oven, add thick-sliced pepperoni and salami and cubes of ham and cheese. You can either slice your own deli meats or buy them precut from a market the grocery story. Arrange the selections on a decorative platter, toss some toothpicks in the middle, and your buddies will lick their fingers clean with this Super Bowl food.
- Fill a homemade bread bowl with salsa. If you’re not a fan of doing dishes, this is the perfect party appetizer. Buy a round loaf of bread a little bigger than the size of a baseball; the rounder, the better. Let the bread sit out for a few days until it gets hard (not moldy!), and carve a chunk out of the top with a shark bread knife. Keep cutting off pieces inside until you have a bowl shape, then drain a jar of pico de gallo (you don’t want the bowl to get mushy) and fill with salsa the day of the Super Bowl. The best part is, when everyone is finished with the salsa, the bread will be soft enough to eat.
- Whip up a bowl of garlic and spinach dip. As long as you’re serving salsa, you might as well break out the tortilla chips. And if not everyone loves the tomato salsa, another type of dip is always a good idea. Blend one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese with a pound of frozen spinach, one cup of sour cream, a teaspoon of salt and a few tablespoons of minced garlic. If you want a creamier texture, add an eight ounce package of cream cheese.
- Create your own fruit kebobs. These colorful fruit-on-a-stick appetizers are popular and easy to make. In addition to kebob sticks that you can find at any grocery store, you will need fresh pineapple, apple, strawberries and grapes. You can either buy containers of precut fruit or chop your own from fresh fruit. Canned fruit doesn’t work, because it’s usually swimming in corn syrup or natural juices that make the fruit too soft to stay on the stick. Arrange the fruit on sticks and place on a rectangular platter.
- In a hurry? Try peanut butter pretzels. These are the easiest pick-me-up desserts you’ll ever make. Just buy a bag of small pretzels, a bag of M&M candies and a jar of peanut butter. Glue the candies to the pretzels with a dab of peanut butter, and scatter the sweets on a plate for all to enjoy. If you're in a rush, these are a breeze to make, and you might even have all the materials in your kitchen already.
