So, you're planning a kayaking trip to Delaware and you need 5 tips for Delaware River kayaking? Well, here we're going to give you tips that will make your Delaware River kayaking experience a great one! Remember, be safe and enjoy the ride!
  1. Stay safe. This is our most important tip. Sure, you'll want to have fun while kayaking on the Delaware River, but stay safe at the same time. Don't forget to wear a life vest. This is overlooked by a lot of people, especially experienced swimmers. Also, if you're going kayaking with a child, don't forget to give her a life vest. Also, don't mess around while kayaking. Any subtle movements could completely tip over your kayak, leaving you and your partner stranded in the water. If this were to happen, stay with the kayak. If a rescue operation were sent out for you and your partner, a kayak is a lot easier to spot than your head and your life jacket. And another thing: don't forget to check the weather before you go out kayaking. If it's going to be a rainy day, then don't go kayaking. Postpone your trip if bad weather is ahead.
  2. Kayak with a partner. This is a great way to experience the Delaware River while kayaking. It also provides company for you. Kayaking along the Delaware River can prove to be pretty lonely if you go by yourself. This is human nature, however. If you don't have someone to talk to, you might feel lonely. So, try your best to bring a partner with you for your kayaking trip. Your partner could also save your life if something were to happen.
  3. Check out the scenery. One of the nicest things about Delaware River kayaking is the scenery. There's lots of green on both sides of the river, lots of wild life, trees, and, to sum it all up, lots of nature around you! Enjoy the scenery!
  4. Go fishing! While you're on the Delaware River, feel free to go fishing while kayaking! If you do plan to go fishing, then don't forget to bring something to store the fish that you catch!
  5. Classify yourself. If you're very new to kayaking in general, especially while kayaking on the Delaware River, then classify yourself as a beginner. If you are a beginner, then don't try to do any risky things while kayaking along the Delaware River. There could be a lot of rough waters and rapids up ahead that you won't want to encounter. If you've gone kayaking before and you consider yourself to be okay at it, then classify yourself as intermediate. If you are in this category, then you could probably take on some rough waters. Still, try not to do things that might be too risky for you and your partner, like waterfalls. If you've been kayaking for years and you know every trick for kayaking, then consider yourself a veteran. If you are a veteran, then you can probably tackle rapids and other things like that.
