5 Tips For Having Safe Sex
You enjoy sex with a passion but you want to take precautions, so here are five tips for having safe sex. Safe sex is always better for both you and your partner; it reduces the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and unwanted pregnancies. It is also a good habit to have. The following tips will teach you how to engage in safer sexual practices.
Materials needed:
- Condoms
-
Make sure you always have a box of condoms. In particular for those who are in a relationship where you are actively having sex, condoms should be added to your grocery list. Even if you are not in a relationship but are sexually active, condoms always come in handy.
- Go to the doctor routinely. If you are in a relationship or married, you and your partner should get tested every six months, even if you are using condoms and trust your partner. Although the thought of this may sound devastating, it is still possible to contract an STI when you are in a monogamous relationship if someone has an affair. Hence, a routine visit at the doctor will dispel any doubts and reassure you of your health.
-
Talk about sex with your partner. Ask your partner about her sexual history. Reveal your sexual history. Talk about birth control. You should be able to openly talk about sex with your partner so that you feel more comfortable engaging in sexual activities.
- Reduce your sexual partners. By reducing the amount of people you engage in sexual activities, you are ultimately reducing your likelihood of contracting an STI. Remember, your sexual health is priority.
- Avoid mixing alcohol and drugs with sex. If you are under the influence of drugs and alcohol, you will not be able to make rational decisions when you are engaged in foreplay. Therefore, you should only have sex when both you and your partner are sober. By doing so, you will be having safer sex.
