5 Tips For Preventing Razor Burn
If you are having problems getting razor burned, you could probably use these 5 tips to prevent razor burn. By following these tips, you can avoid the annoyance and pain of those pesky razor burns that seem to plague so many individuals.
Things you'll need:
- Shaving cream
- Medium-quality razor
- Make sure the part of your body you are planning to shave is wet. Trying to shave any part of your body is a surefire way to get razor burns. By lightly damping the area, the razor will have a more consistent run on the skin and much less of a scrape. You only want a light slice when you shave and wetting the area will definitely help prevent the razor burn that comes with dry skin.
- Always use shaving cream whenever you’re shaving any part of your body. The shaving cream works by lubricating the skin, giving a smooth area for the the razor to get closer to the skin and get a more even and precise cut. Keep in mind that you don’t have to spend any crazy amount of money on shaving cream because most creams are the same. Unless you have some kind of skin condition, you can just get normal shaving cream.
- Find a medium-quality razor or blade. There is no need to spend a lot of money on the razor, but you don’t want to get the cheapest blade because it will most likely not be as sharp as necessary to give a quality cut that won’t cause razor burn!
- Don’t overcut when shaving, as this will easily cause razor burn. If you keep slicing at the same area of the skin you have already gone over, you will get all of the hair and probably cut your hairless skin.
- Always use a fresh, sharpened razor to avoid razor burn. Even if you have a high quality razor, the blade can get burned over many times of use. To avoid razor burn in this instance, always either sharpen a blade or get a new one after the second or third use.
