5 Troubleshooting Tips For Inverter Microwaves

Learning 5 troubleshooting tips for inverter microwaves can save on costly and unnecessary repairs. Many people rely on their inverter microwaves and when something happens to prevent them from operating properly, it can really put a damper in food preparation plans. However, it is relatively easy to troubleshoot simple inverter microwave problems and have them functioning properly in no time.

  1. If the Inverter Microwave Oven Suddenly Stops Working. Check your home’s fuse or circuit breaker for the outlet powering the inverter microwave first when troubleshooting. The outlet could have tripped or blown out requiring a simple reset. If resetting the outlet does not work, connect the inverter microwave to another outlet to see if the unit is still operational.
  2. Check the Cooling Fan. Another possible issue that could cause an inverter microwave to function improperly is a stuck inverter microwave cooling fan. Unplug the unit and remove the cover. Rotate the fan by hand; if it easily rotates look for and remove any burnt materials surrounding the fan and try powering the unit up again. If the fan does not rotate easily, use a penetrating oil like WD-40 and keep turning the fan until it moves freely. Power up and test the unit again.
  3. Check the Inverter. If the unit still fails to work at this point, this could be a sign of a faulty inverter. If your unit came with a replacement inverter locate it and proceed to take the unit apart to access the old inverter. Carefully remove the old inverter and connect the replacement inverter. Test the unit again with the new inverter.
  4. See a Professional. If the unit still fails to work properly after replacing the old inverter,  fixing the problem may be out of your reach. Use your manufacturers warranty if your inverter microwave came with one or take your inverter microwave to an appliance repair shop to fix the problem.
