Where are the members of ABBA now? This Swedish pop supergroup made up of two married couples was one of the most popular bands in the world in the mid to late-1970s with such hits as "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me" and "Fernando." In addition to their musical success, they were also known for their forays into feature films, including "ABBA: The Movie" and "Mamma Mia." Today, the four original members of Abba, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, enjoy varying levels of success.
- Björn Ulvaeus got divorced from fellow ABBA member Agnetha Fältskog in June 1980. The next year, he married current wife Lena Källersjö with whom he has two children. Throughout the decade, he has been deeply involved with the staging and music for the musical "Mamma Mia," based on ABBA's music.
- Benny Andersson divorced fellow ABBA member Anni-Frid Lyngstad in 1981. Days later, he married current wife Mona Nörklit with whom he has one child. Andersson turned to Swedish folk music after ABBA split, forming a new band that released several albums. He was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University Of Stockholm for his promotion of Swedish folk music and culture . His latest project, The Benny Andersson band, played its first show this summer.
- Anni-Frid Lyngstad has remained involved in music since ABBA split. She released several solo albums in the 1980s and 1990s, but today spends most of her time on charity work for environmental causes. However, she continues to provide guest vocals on albums for other artists, including former Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord. She married twice more after her divorce from Andersson; her third husband died in 1999.
- Agnetha Fältskog released three English-language solo albums in the 1980s after ABBA split and also did some film work. She attempted a comeback in 2004 with a new album, "My Colouring Book," but has since remained out of the spotlight. She married again after splitting from fellow band member Ulvaeus, but got divorced from her second husband in 1996.
