An abstinence sex education guide is very helpful when you make the choice to refrain from sexual activity. Some people decide to become abstinent from sex even after previous sexual encounters because abstinence is the only 100% method that can be used to protect against pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Practicing abstinence can be very difficult but it can be accomplished with proper abstinence sex education. Abstinence sex education involves learning how to deal with certain situations that can arise.

  1. Abstinence sex education involves learning how to deal with situations that may involve possible sexual encounters. Sometimes you will be in a relationship where your partner will want to have sex. This can be a difficult situation to deal with if you are practicing abstinence. To deal with the situation, explain to your partner your reason behind why you made your choice to refrain from sex. Your partner should respect your choice and be understanding to your feelings. If your partner is not willing to refrain from sex, the relationship probably won’t work out.
  2. Some people make the choice to become abstinent after they had sex in the past. If you are currently in a relationship and have recently made the choice to abstain from sex, it is important to discuss your reason with your partner. Again, your partner must be willing to understand your lifestyle choice and agree to abide by it.
  3. When practicing abstinence, many people are unsure whether the term refers to oral intercourse as well. The answer to this depends on who you ask. When some people practice abstinence, they refrain from all sexual activities, whereas others only refrain from intercourse. It is a personal choice you will have to make, but understand, diseases can still be transmitted through oral sex.

While practicing abstinence, many people are scrutinized by their peers. Remember, there is nothing wrong with making the choice to be abstinent. There are so many people who make this choice. You are not alone in your decision. Even when people react negatively to your decision, stand firm in your beliefs.
