Bait for crappie fishing will give you the edge when it comes to catching crappie. Crappie are extremely fun to catch, fight like no other, and are a great pan fish to pursue when young anglers are just getting into the sport. Knowing the right types of baits to use for crappie will help you to not only catch more crappie, but catch bigger crappie! Remember, no matter what type of bait you use for crappie, you’ll need to sharpen the hooks to ensure that you keep the crappie stuck once they hit.

  1. Jigs. Jigs are a great bait to use when crappie are feeding heavily on suspended minnows or smaller bait fish.
