These bass fishing facts will help you to learn more about bass fishing and the bass themselves. As with any activity, the more you know the better off you will be. Keep in mind there are several different factors that affect bass fishing including your equipment, your surroundings, the weather, and the water.

1. When bass fishing in clear water wear clothing that matches your background. Bass can see objects that are above the water. This means that they can see you. If you are wearing a bright colored shirt that stands out from the surrounding environment,  they will know that something is up.
2. In shallow water bass can detect color. It has been shown that lures that were red tend worked better when bass fishing in shallow water. This won't work when the water is deep because the color will just blend to shades of gray.
3. Water temperature makes a big different when bass fishing. Bass feed more often when the water warms up, but slows down when the water gets to warm. When they are feeding, they will grab their prey and then turn it so they can swallow it head first. This important bass fishing information because you will want to wait before you set the hook if you are using large bait.
4. Weather makes a big difference in the location you should be bass fishing. Bass will feed heavily before a cold front moves in. Once a cold front arrives, they will feed very little. A steady wind will move small food near the shore so bass can be found feeding there. Clouds and rain reduce the amount of light that penetrates the water so the bass fishing is better in shallower water on cloudy days.
