Bay Area Skydive Spots
There are a number of Bay Area skydiving spots that are safe and are legally allowed to throw you and an instructor out of a plane from thousand of feet in the air. Skydiving in this area of California, above one of the most beautiful cities in the world and one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, is a truly remarkable activity, as you will be able to see this area from an entirely new, gorgeous perspective. Check out some of the bay area skydive spots listed below and decide which one makes the most sense to you based on what type of skydiving you want to do and how much each of these places charge for their services.
- Bay Area Skydiving. Located in Byron, California beside the Byron airport just outside of the Bay Area, Bay Area skydive is one of the premiere skydive spots in the Bay Area, as they have been operating safely for over 25 years. They have a weight limit of 225 pounds for tandem skydiving and have a strict requirement against people under the age of 18 being able to skydive at their organization. A tandem skydive costs around two hundred dollars or more and there is some ground school education that each person must take before hooking onto an instructor and jumping out of a plane.
- California Skydive at Monterrey Bay. Located just south of San Francisco, California Skydive at Monterrey Bay is one of the better bay area skydive spots as they are known for doing some of the highest skydiving jumps of anyone in the world on a regular basis. People will jump from planes at 18,000 feet, which greatly increases the free fall time and allows for a more incredible experience for customers. As you are falling, you will not necessarily be above San Francisco, but above the beautiful Monterrey Bay, Santa Cruz and San Jose. The highest tandem jumps are over $250 each but other jumps can be done more inexpensively for around $200.
- Skydive San Francisco. Skydive San Francisco is one of the premiere skydiving companies in the Bay Area, located north of the Bay area in a town called Cloverdale. You will skydive from over 10,000 feet above the coastline of California, overlooking the Pacific and San Francisco to the South, with the Golden Gate Bridge in the foreground as you fall. While this is a shorter skydiving fall then other Bay Area Skydive spots, the view during your free fall may be more picturesque.
