Become A Padi Instructor

There are practical steps that you can take to become a Padi instructor. If you like to dive, there exists an opportunity to earn an income by teaching others the profession. Keep in mind that professional diving can be dangerous and accidents do happen. The skills required to become a diving instructor are demanding. 

To become a Padi Instructor, you'll need :

• Medical Exam Clearance
• Certification as an open-water diver for at least 60 hours
• CPR/First Aid Certification 

1. Start out by contacting former diving students and diving teachers to help you become a Padi instructor. Contact several Padi instructors and ask them what steps they had to take to become an instructor. Ask former students where can you get the best training. Volunteer to work at an approved Padi facility for at least 60 days to find out what the work entails. Make sure that you observe and study this profession carefully before you decide to become a Padi instructor. 
2. Enroll into a professional diving program to help you become a Padi instructor and pay all the fees. Learn how to swim at least 800 yards with diving equipment and how to tread water for at least twenty minutes to prepare for and past the final exam. Prepare for the exams by studying how to make accurate dives and by following the instructor's directions on how to operate all your scuba gear and equipment.
3. Complete 100 hours of diving with 50 hours verified by a trained professional to help you become a Padi instructor. Score at least 75% or better on each part of the diving test. Pass the classroom instruction, water skills, and practice rescue procedures and you are now a Padi instructor.
