Benefits Of Hiring A Personal Trainer

Curious about the benefits of hiring a personal trainer? Personal trainers are a popular work-out luxury among those who can afford them. For some, it’s a new form of conspicuous consumption, but personal trainers do bring a lot to the table. For example:

  1. Strategic planning. Personal trainers can help you set fitness goals and develop your plan to meet them. They have the knowledge of fitness techniques, diet and nutrition and cycles of training to help you do it safely and efficiently.
  2. Injury prevention. Your personal trainer knows enough about sports medicine to keep you from getting hurt due to overexertion or an equipment accident. If you are injured, she can also help you modify your workout to speed recovery and avoid re-injuring yourself.
  3. On-site encouragement. One important part of your personal trainer’s job is to stand next to you while you work out and encourage you to keep pushing.  Although any workout partner can do this, your trainer knows the best way to do it. Also, she won’t take it personally if you swear at her.
  4. Accountability. This is probably the most important benefit of having a personal trainer. If you just don’t feel like working out, you have to call and tell her. And if the reason wasn’t good enough you can expect a mild to moderate ration first thing on your next session. The end result is usually just going to your workout after all, which is best since the most important step in getting fit is simply showing up.
