Best New Aston Martins Of The Decade

Aston Martin has an illustrious history in the automotive marketplace, and trying to decide which of these cars are the best new Aston Martins of the decade, well, it can be a challenge. They have manufactured some of the most well-known automobiles of the past several decades, from the DB4s and DB5s that graced the screen in early James Bond films to the modern Aston Martins that secured their role in history with a return to the big screen. The two most recent Bond films have spotlighted the new Aston Martin DBS. While Aston Martin produces each car by hand, they have maintained their reputation for one of the highest quality and best performing automotive manufacturers. In the past decade we have seen a resurgence of the Aston Martin marque with totally redesigned vehicles that bring sleek, beautiful styling and superb performance to the table.

  1. In 2002, Aston Martin once again teamed up with legendary coach builder Zagato and introduced the new DB7 and the super performing Vanquish. Since that marriage took place, the automotive world has been blessed with not only the DB7 and Vanquish, but the redesigned DB9 and the Vanquish S. The Vanquish S is a 520 horse power monster that, while maintaining Aston Martin's racing heritage, emits a beauty of design and functionality. One only has to sit in the cockpit of one of these luxurious monsters to understand all that goes into creating one of the world's most beautiful automobiles. When introduced in 2004, the DB9 Volante was a dream come true for Aston Martin fans, as it merged the unique and elegant Zagato styling in a convertible body. The DB9 also brought Aston Martin back into the realm of racing with appearances in endurance racing such as the 24 hours of LeMans. Taking the DB9 to this level bolstered the racing heritage that Aston Martin was built upon.
  2. Aston Martin had another break-through year in 2005. One of the best new Aston Martins of the decade was born in 2005: the V8 Vantage. This stunning automobile brought Aston Martin's unique style and performance heritage to a great many more potential buyers. By offering an Aston Martin to those who are less than millionaires, Aston Martin has become an almost household name among automotive enthusiasts and dreamers alike. It is within the past couple of years that Aston Martin has built upon the legacy of the Vanquish S and their racing successes by introducing three of the best Aston Martins of the decade.
  3. In 2006, the new Aston Martin DBS gained a starring role in the new James Bond film. While dreamers didn't know it yet, the production version was being launched in 2007. The DBS brought the Bond fantasies of many enthusiasts to life as they could drive the same car that James Bond did. In 2009, Aston Martin released a Volante version of the DBS, bringing the DBS legacy another notch closer to being one of not only Aston Martin's best cars of the decade, but one of the best cars in the world. Aston Martin has also decided to breach into the personal luxury automobile market to challenge the likes of Maserati, BMW, Mercedes and the new Porsche with the introduction of the Aston Martin Rapide. Coupling the performance that Aston Martin is renowned for with a four-door sedan styled by Zagato, Aston Martin has once again outdone themselves. The Aston Martin Rapide ranks as either number one or number two on the list of the best new Aston Martins of the decade. The only reason for debate among automotive and Aston Martin enthusiasts is the argument of the DBS versus the Rapide. While the DBS and the Rapide are both gorgeously-styled automobiles with power, performance and luxury to spare, the only question that needs to be asked, in James Bond fashion of course, is, "two doors or four?"
