If you own a Nintendo DS, then you should know the best Nintendo DS games. These Nintendo DS games are the top of the line games that every owner of the DS should have. Keep in mind that there are a few different types of games that will cater to all gamers out there.

  1. "Super Mario DS." One of the best games for the Nintendo DS is a remake of a classic Nintendo 64 game. "Super Mario 64" was one of the first and best 3D video games ever made and "Super Mario DS" just brings that greatness to the Nintendo DS with a few extras. The differences between "Super Mario 64" and "Super Mario DS" are that in the Nintendo 64 version you could only play as Mario. But in "Super Mario DS," you can pick between Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario. There are some parts of the game where you have to choose one of the specific characters to progress, but for the most part, you are free to play as whoever you want.
  2. "Mario Kart DS." One for the racing fans, "Mario Kart DS" forgoes realistic style racing for a game that uses odd items such as banana peels, shells, and mushrooms to make the game more interesting. With "Mario Kart DS" you can connect your Nintendo DS to the internet and battle your friends in either a race or in battle mode. In battle mode, you and other players are given balloons. If you are harmed from a shell, banana peel, fall of a cliff, etc. then you will lose a balloon. The last player with at least one balloon wins the battle.
  3. "The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass." This classic action adventure for the Nintendo DS is great for the gamers who enjoy a great fight, but also like to use their minds. The great thing about the Zelda games for all of the Nintendo consoles is that they force the player to use both your fighting skills and your brain. One minute you will be fighting a group of bad guys, and the next you will be solving a tough puzzle.
