Got a lot of money that you want to throw around and curious about the best private jets to purchase? If you do, you might want to consider investing in a private jet! Super-fast and really sharp, our best private jets to purchase list will inspire you to take to the skies! If nothing more, you'll get the chicks for sure.

  1. The G550. Tersely named, the G550 is a product of Gulfstream Aerospace and manufactured in the good old US of A, Savannah, Georgia, to be exact. Retailing for a cool (and really steep) $46.67 million, this private jet is one to purchase only if you have an untapped fortune of some kind. It reaches a top speed of 562 mph.
  2. Citation XLS. Retailing for a somewhat more reasonable (though still quite pricey to say the least) $10.64 million, the Citation XLS makes it on our best private jets list because it's made by the folks at Cessna, the long-storied brand name in aviation. It has a capacity of two crew and twelve passengers; its top speed is 506 mph.
  3. Falcon 2000EX. Varying things up a bit is a foreign entry from France; Bordeaux, that is. Built by Dassault Aviation, the Falcon 2000EX tops out at a maximum speed of 555 mph and sells for $27.2 million dollars. Its range is 4371 miles, and worldwide sales in 2006 amounted to just 30, probably accounting for its high price.
  4. Learjet 45. Coming from Bombardier Business Aircraft and manufactured in good old Wichita, the Learjet 45 holds just two crew and nine passengers, a notable step down from the bigger models earlier in our list. The asking price is "only" $11.15 million dollars, so you have a real "fighting chance" at owning this one if you can cough up the dough.
