Best Way To Build Muscle
It is a well know fact that muscles help burn fat, but what is the best way to build muscle? You already know that the ripped guy with the furtive looks in the gym corner is hopped up on steroids--and you also know that this is definitely not the way to go. The healthier method is also more labor-intensive--and even there you can make a few mistakes. So what is the best way to build muscle and maintain the bulk increase--in addition to exercising?
- Stay away from protein shakes. In spite of the muscular arms that adorn the drums of powdered protein, these concoctions can lead to weight gain. Unfortunately, this weight is frequently related to fat and not muscle mass. While muscles are made up of proteins, excessively ingested protein does not leave the body like a water-soluble vitamin. Instead, it becomes fat.
- Look to lean protein sources. Nuts, lean cuts of meat, soy and low-fat milk are just some of the protein sources that support muscle health. The best way to build muscle mass is to ingest between 15 and 20 percent from these sources. Trim off visible fat and blot away oil from meat and cheese.
- Maintain a proper protein to carbohydrate proportion. As a general rule of thumb, a regularly exercising body builder would ingest 1.8 grams of lean proteins for every one kilogram of body weight. Granted, this takes a bit of metrics conversion and math; even so, it is well worth the effort. Remember that the failsafe ratio between carbs and proteins should be four to one in favor of carbohydrates.
- Accept your limitations. Even the best way to build muscle--religiously observed--cannot guarantee the physique of a hulk. Just like nutritional intake plays a huge role in whether the calories become muscle mass or merely fat, genetics decide on your final amount of bulk. A man who is naturally destined to be lean and tall will not suddenly turn into a towering muscle man.
Follow these suggestions, and you are on your way to increase muscle mass the right way. Remember: the best way to build muscle does not come from a syringe or powder!
