Here's a little body massage guide if your looking for some tips. Body massage therapy has been used for centuries, the benefits have been proven time and time again. Just the simple act of touching a person can have therapeutic effects. Giving and receiving a body massage can ease tense muscles, and release stress. The massage increases circulation to a tense area which relieves pain and stiffness. This can help people who suffer from chronic illness or pain, or just the usual day to day stress that our lives entail. A massage can also be sensual and used as a form of foreplay as well as aid in relieving stress with your partner. Some things to consider with body massage therapy:

  1. Atmosphere is very important. Dim lights, aromatherapy candles, and relaxing music all help set the mood and atmosphere that will be most conducive to a relaxing body massage. Scents like lavender are known to help relax the body and mind, and may be very beneficial in setting your mood for giving a body massage.
  2. Avoid rough and sudden movements. A body massage doesn't have to be hard or vigorous to be therapeutic. In fact, the gentler you are the more beneficial it is for your partner. It is much more sensual if the massage is slow, gentle, and long.
  3. Use body massage oils and lotions. A high quality massage oil or lotion will moisturize the skin. This also makes it easier for the person giving the body massage to move along smoothly and without chafing their partner's skin. There are candles specifically marketed for this, and the wax actually turns into a moisturizing lotion.
