Capital Of Texas

The capital of Texas is Austin, which is considered one of the best bigger cities in which to live in the United States of America. It has been booming in population over the past few years for a number of different reasons. The capital of Texas has a diverse population, an incredibly creative culture, a number of big events throughout the year and it's own attitude and political philosophy which differs from the rest of the state of Texas. The capital of Texas even has it's own brands of food which you can't really find anywhere else, as most would expect from the independent minded capital of Texas.

The most surprising thing about Austin is that it is a liberal bastion, in a state that is known to be staunchly conservative. Despite the fact that the politicians in the state capital of Texas are generally conservative, the local politicians of the city and most of the populous are liberal and always vote democrat. This is probably due to the strong creative culture in Austin, namely through the music. The capital of Texas also is known as the Live Music Capital of the world, with numerous drags within the city that have nothing but bars with stages for the next big band to be discovered. There are even a couple big music festivals throughout the year, from South by Southwest in the Spring to Austin City Limits in the Fall, which feature some of the hottest new bands and biggest, most-established bands in the country every year.

Beyond that, Austin is also known for the University of Texas, which is one of the largest and best colleges in the country. The students and teachers who make up the population of the University are an important part of the culture and mindset of Austin itself. They also have one of the best college sports teams in the country, through the Texas Longhorns who are regularly in contention for a national title in most sports. You also have to eat the food in the capital of Texas if you get the chance to visit. Tex-Mex dominates most cuisine in Austin and is more delicious then any you will have anywhere. And the bar-b-que is better in and around Austin then just about anywhere else in the world.
